Just started thinking maybe taking a trip out next september october, would be looking at staying in 3* - not planning on using it as anything other than a base really, it would be for me my wife and 4 year old son.
Does anyone have a rough guide on how much it would cost in total for a 2 week break?
Or do people think that 4 years old is a bit too young? (he's 3 1/2 at the moment and 110cm tall)TESCO EVERY LITTLE change to the t&cs HELPS0 -

Depends if you plan on going back. I went for the first time when I was 4 and I don't really remember any of it apart from getting in a paddy because I couldn't go on the rollercoaster. Went again a few years later and I have a much more vivid memory of the place.
Thats not to say a 4 year old wouldn't enjoy it, just it didn't really stick to me when I went at that age and if (as a child) I had a choice I'd go when I was older!0 -
we went in march with our dd age 6, she was just about tall enough for most of the rides she wanted to go on including things like rock and rollacoaster, there is a list of height requirements on thedibb for all rides0

We went in the year of dreams, we didn't win a castle suite stay but we did win extra hours in Epcot after it closed with rides operated just for a small group of us. They also had a party for the children and there were only about 6 kids there, my daughter danced with Mickey, Minnie, Chip, Dale and Donald - she was delighted.
Oh wow, how absolutely fabulous :T:T0 -

We were one of the lucky families to win an overnight stay in the castle last year
Oh, tell us more, PLEASE!0 -
Oh, tell us more, PLEASE!
We were at Typhoon Lagoon when we won our prize. We later found out that my daughter's boyfriend was the actual prize winner as he had been the first person to ride 'Humunga Kowabunga'after a certain time - I think it was something random like 12:17pm - felt sorry for the guy who had let him go in front of him as he lost out!
There was alot of form filling and disclaimers to sign but once that was all done we were given a lift back to our hotel on I-Drive, so that we could pack some overnight stuff.
We were then taken back to Magic Kingdom, and driven into a staff area, we were given strict instructions NOT to take any photos whilst we were here.
Another member of staff then took responsibility for us, she said that we would be guests of honour at Cinderella's Royal Table for dinner that evening followed bt VIP seating for the parade and fireworks.
Before dinner we were allowed to by-pass any queue on any ride.
When the fireworks had finished we were given a private tour of the park when everybody had gone, very strange being the only people in MK!
We had already been into the apartment in the castle to drop our stuff off, but when we returned to go to bed the place looked alot different. There was plenty to eat and drink, a carriage and horses made from white chocolate, chocolate dipped strawberries, fresh fruit, lots of other sweets and plenty of soft drinks.
The apartment itself (if I remember correctly) consisted of a main bedroom, a living area with another two beds (there were six of us) and bath room which housed a shower as well as a jacuzzi bath. To be honest it was smaller than I expected but all very nice.
In addition to the food and drinks there was a selection of DVD's as well as board games.
If we wanted anything during the night we were told to ring the concierge and they would try and provide it.
We were actually locked in overnight - presume they didn't want us wandering around the park by ourselves.
The next morning we had breakfast at Crystal Palace and that was the end of our treat.0 -
Could you not take any photo's in the castle or was it just the staff area?Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0

It was just the staff area where we couldn't take photos.
Just looked at my earlier post and realised I didn't do the apartment justice with my brief description.
It was very nice and alot of attention to detail. there were stained glass windows with the Cinderella charcters on them, a portrait of Cinderella above the fireplace that 'magically' turned into a television there were also (as you'd expect) some hidden Mickeys.
The towels and bathrobes had a cinderella castle crest on them, but I resisted the temptation to steal one!
Off to Disneyland California on Sunday, shame the year of a million dreams has finished.0 -
here are some photo of the apartment if any wants to have a look.
Looks wonderful. Must have been a truly magical experience.

Hi,
I've been doing some research on tickets ready for our trip. We don't really want or need the Disney tickets that are available within the UK (Premium or Ultimate) as we won't make full use of them - because we plan to spend more of our time / money on Universal, Discovery cove, seaworld, aquatica, Busch and a various different other trips outside Orlando.
So I think we are better off buying "Magic Your Way" 2/3 day Disney tickets, but these aren't officially available in the UK prior to departure.
So if we do this, we can either buy them on the gate, on our first day there, or we could buy them in advance via a US website, such as http://www.park-tickets.com/disney-world-tickets.aspx
Are there any pros and cons of either buying here in advance, or just waiting till we get there?
Thanks in advance !0
