We've stopped on iDrive twice, and only had a car for 3 days to specifically goto Busch gardens (Tampa), and NASA. We found didnt need a car for Universal or Disney as just used the Hotel shuttles for Disney, or the iTrolley and Lynx, local buses, iTrolley is about $14/adult, kids upto 13 free I think, bargain for the 2 weeks.

Oh, I forgot to ask.... It might be that our party size drops from 4 adults to 2, meaning that it may just be me, my wife and my boy going. If that is the case, would a villa still be cost effective or are there good hotels to consider?

If so, can anyone recommend any for me to have a look at? I've seen people say that you should avoid international drive which I'm happy to do. The problem is...when you look, there are literally hundreds of hotels, villas and alike. It would be good to get a few recommendations.

    You're welcome :T

A villa won't be cheaper than a hotel, but you will have a lot of extra space, may save money as you can eat breakfast in, other meals etc - you'll have washing machine / dryer so you can take less clothes etc etc. More privacy, own pool ....

There are loads of villa fans that really value all of the above and more.

We tend to stay in hotels because we aren't in the room a lot and value location over the extra space. There is no right and wrong answer to be honest, just gauge what you think your family would prefer.

Or, what about a condo? Best of both worlds possibly?

In terms of hotels, as you say there are so many it's tough to recommend one. I prefer the Lake Buena Vista area to I Drive or the 192 but each has it's upsides. A condo we liked in LBV was the Cypress Pointe Resort.

That's a great help already. I'll look at the Lake Buena Vista area and the 192 (is that a district or something?)

A condo is also a very good consideration which I'll be looking at

I did actually go 20 years ago and stayed in Kissimmee. Is this still an acceptable area?

    Sorry,

The 192 is a long road which runs to the south of Disney east to west (ish) providing good access to the Disney area and with multiple entrances to the I4 (motorway connecting areas around Orlando). Kissimmee is at the east end of the 192, so likely you have travelled down the 192 many times! It's full of restaurants and retail units, Walmart etc, Medieval Times (I mention that as its likely you will remember that). So yes still acceptable.

Brill... I'll have a good look around that area. I've just signed up to the dibb so that I can have a look at the features on there. No doubt I'll come back for more advice soon
  • I am looking to get Park Tickets for 12 people, want tickets for all the main parks, Disney , Universal, Busch, Seaworld. Seems to be loads of sites selling them, anyone know who actually does the best deal for a multi park ticket??

The best deal I can find is with http://www.undercovertourist.com, they are Disney authorised (not all sellers are) and although they are Stateside they will post to the UK for around £18. They are tickets not vouchers. If you have to cancel your holiday due to a hurricane, they offer a 100% (refund hopefully you will not have to make use of this!)
