  • There is a section re the disabled badges you need to apply for a badge I'm 99% certain you don't get free parking at the parks but with a us disabled badge you should get diamond parking so less distance to walk.

  • Flights to Florida next summer for under £500 on some dates. Indirect flights and full payment. I expect this to not be available after midnight tonight!

I'm not allowed to tout for business but just thought this would be really useful to everyone on this forum since it's about £400 less per person than the average fare for next summer.
  • KENTMUMOF1 we are also going Xmas leaving on 13th and coming back 29th. Also looking for something to do for xmas day and we are going to be avoiding the parks over the xmas days as hubby and son hate queues and people LOL
  • Back to my question about insurance for park tickets - is it worth it or not? If they are lost will the parks re-issue them provded we have photocopies etc of the tickets?

Thank you everyone for your advice, I now seem to be at least looking in the right direction!
KarenG- have set up flight alert searches (thanks again), I would love to travel direct etc, but think you are only travelling 2 days and you are in resort 12/13 so would much rather spend the money on villa with games room etc. so will probably go indirect as suggested. Can I send the kids as freight?? ;) If I book flights Monday to Monday, is that going to be a problem with villa hire or are the readily available for whatever dates required? Have looked on a few of the Florida Owner websites and they do seem to be, but wondered if there were and hidden cost I should know about.
Kaz2904 – maybe not an expert then:rotfl:, but you still know more than me!! Sounds like you have the right trip booked for you which is the important thing. I bet you do still look at the prices, it can be worth it if they only ever go up!
Now the really difficult question...how do I persuade the OH to go in 2012 not 2013!
    Thanks to everyone again!!

We have booked a villa for tues-tues and did not find this a problem. Even when the first villa owner double booked us, we have managed to find a replacement (and a better one at that :T ). Just email and ask them - worst they can say is no.

Have booked my park tickets (went to atd and got them to price match floridatix while throwing in a kids eat free). They tried to sell me insurance against cancellation and loss of tickets, I said no but is it worth it?

If you photocopy your tickets I believe that if they are lost Disney can replace them *though I can't remember where I discovered this nugget of info!* so photocopy just in case ;-) I know our travel insurance would cover ticket costs if we had to cancel so thats another thing to think about.

Hi, We're staying in Bahama Bay resort near Lake Davenport.
Is it worth buying the 'kids eat free' card - are there any restaurants participating nearby?
    Thanks

i have got back today and found most places in orlando offered kids eat free anyway without needing the card, the only exception i found was cici's pizza.
  • In all honesty I couldn't advise going to WDW at xmas unless it's a repeat visit and you are prepared for the hoards of people everywhere, the traffic jams on the 192 and the 4 and the 4 + hour queues for rides.
The middle to end of August is a great time with minimal queues..although it is very hot and humid with potential for hurricanes lol.

september is also a good time to go when queues are not too bad,i got back today and found even the most popular rides were no longer than 50 minutes standby but i just fast passed them.
the only problem was the temperature and humidity well in to the 90's not easy to walk miles round parks.also late afternoon/evening some cracking thunderstorms.
leaving last night the sky was constantly being illuminated by lightening as we flew over cape canaveral, pretty awsome sight.

Yes they will WDW have never mentioned a charge for this but BG/SW and US/IOA said $10 pp to re-issue

  • Prices with Delta are still available today! They are around the £500 - £600 price today. I expect that this won't be available for long but it's been there for 2 days so far. If you're after Orlando - or anywhere in the USA next summer I would book this as soon as poss!
