Orlando/Disneyworld Thread (Part 3)

Hi I have stopped in this villa in May it was lovely and has a good size pool . http://www.floridavistasun.com/house_four.htm The owners phoned us whilst we were there to make sure every thing was ok. We stopped at one of their other villas 3 years ago aswell. They are a lovely couple from Coventry and we are hoping to stay with them again in two years time. I certainly recommend them. Hope you have a fantastic time.

Have just re read origional post. The area of these villas are Davenport not Emerald island, oops

I am giving the confirmation to a solicitor friend to look over. They state I should have told them if the confirmation was wrong but it does not state I have bought a package, it says I have paid for accomodation (that I called and asked for) tickets (that I called and asked for) and there is no 'start date' mentioned on the documents for the tickets, just an arrival date. It is not specific that they are tied but I am going to ask her and see what she says about it.

I am prepared to lose Free Dining but part of me (the MSE part of me) feels that I want to stand up and make myself heard because they are the ones who made the mistake and are washing my hands of it. I just want back the extra I will have to pay out because they made the mistake. But we shall see.

Oh, us too!! We went in August 2007 and had the best time. Loved the fireworks, and especially loved the Pirate Party area in Tomorrowland. Just thinking about that party makes me smile - it was absolute magic :T

Thank you anyway, I have found and booked a villa in Emerald Isle and can finally sleep at night lol

I have told Disney that I called to make a reservation for accomodation and tickets but was offered free dining. I asked if we could use our tickets at Kidani and was told yes, would not be a problem and so booked it all - I said the whole holiday had been booked around us going to Kidani. In the past we have been issued a voucher to collect tickets from the booth so we assumed the same thing would happen. Apparently not. I said that if the lady had said that we could not use tickets until 7th we would have booked a week at OKW for week 1 and got our tickets from then.

I've learned a lot today. I learned you can get the tickets removed from your card and exchanged for 'hard' tickets. we did think we would buy more Ultimate 21's then get the hard tickets from the card and flog those on eBay.

However, to remove the dining plan and put it back on will be £453 - or we could just not bother and pay as we go each day.

But I am really cross as I feel I've been misold and did not get what I had requested at time of booking. Apparently it is my fault for not checking the booking confirmation but as I pointed out, I called and asked for accomodation, I called and asked for tickets, I was offered free dining as I was buying the 2. Nowhere on the confirmation does it state I have bought a package yet they have it down that I have bought a package and this is what the hoo-har is all over.

However, I am not risking losing the reservations and there are things we want to do so we have to stay in Disney to get the EMH to do them.

I am absolutely exhausted now. Hubby said to sue Disney for the extra money it will cost us because we called them and asked for something specific but was sold something else that was of no use. What is more the confirmation did not state that we were buying something else as the items we asked for were on the confirmation and listed seperately, it did not state that they were park of a package. Today I am out of fight though and I have had enough. It is very draining. Its all a bit of a mess and I need a nice relaxing hot bath.

I have spent the last 2 weeks reading through this thread and have finally got to the end after getting lots of tips along the way.
I cannot believe disney have done this, I have seen how much planning has gone into your holiday and the great advice you have given to others and hope it works out in the end :-S

Update: As a special exception Disney have decided that we CAN get our tickets early. It was so worth the hours and hours I have spent on the phone the last few days. But it should never have happened so hopefully, they will change their T&C for the future so it happens to no-one else.

I am so pleased for you, I could see you would have tried to have made the best of a bad situation, but inevitably it would have taken some of the shine of your much planned for holiday. Have a great time, and well done for your persistance, it does pay.:D

Thank you. Yes, just relieved. I screamed when I put the phone down I was so excited. I called up and booked dinner for HD&V as I hoped that Fantasmic might be on that day (but no!) and at the end othe lady asked if we was celebrating while we was there and I said DD birthday was on 9th and we was already booked into Chef Mickeys, but she made a note on the booking so that everyone made a fuss of her on the day.

I feel a totally different person tonight.

And we are going to see the Osborne Family lights. Yay!!
