Guys - don't forget you can do Orlando significantly cheaper if you stay outside of Disney. Don't restrict yourself to the onsite accommodation.
The 2 bed villas are absolutely wonderful, but at £3k for two weeks (before flights!) but you can get a super nice 2 bed condo just outside Disney for far less.
Me, I love staying onsite, but I have also stayed offsite and had an excellent time. I agree wth blue monkey wholeheartedly that the 2 bed Disney villas with free dining are terrific value for money, but that doesn't make them the cheapest option.
I know it is not the cheapest but for us, with no car it is the most convenient. Plus we get to do the 'Disney thing'. it's like living in a bubble while there.
I was looking on the site for Halloween yesterday and all of the Disney hotels - except the Animal ones (where we are damn!) have halloween events going on from 10am.
Also they give away free candy and the kids can go trick or treating at various locations in Downtown Disney too.

agreed
there are so many options in orlando the disney resorts are convenient but are definately not the cheapest.if you intend having a car anyway then stopping off site is so much cheaper i have booked a condo in bahama bay resort approx 10 mins from disney for 14 nights next september for £600ish.
everyone is different but me personally prefer staying off site as by the time been at disney during the day i would like the evening away from it all to enjoy a relaxing pint somewhere.0 -

I'd also say that there's the option of a "half-way house" in terms of Hotel Plaza Boulevard. Technically inside Disney but with non-Disney hotels. Great location, free (non-Disney) transportation and often cheaper prices if you shop around. I like HPB for the fact you can walk one way and be in Disney Marketplace with all that has to offer and in the other direction to Crossroads and lots of non-Disney eating and drinking. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I am filling out the forms on the virgin website, where it says 'citizenship as stated on your passport' ours says 'British Citizen' but there is a choice of British Subject or United Kingdom (UK). So which one do I use. I've filled in 'British Subject'. Is this right?0

We check into AKV that day so it would be too much of a pain to be honest, we intended that for a 'rest day', have booked the Halloween party for that night. Ouch - extra $$$. But it'll be a lovely experience and we have booked the Xmas party - double Ouch $$$ - but also have Tea booked at the crysal Palace the same day so it should be nice.
Am very excited that they finally have a date for the Osbourne Familiy lights on the site - it's 8th November so I'll be able to see them a couple of times before we leave. Yippee. I have a diary. Yes, a holiday diary, that I am already filling in with the Extra Magic Hours, booked meals and plans for each day. It feels a tad sad but also feels good to be organised enough to know what we will be doing what day. Talk about wishing the time away!!
Also found out that we will get our Disney documents 2 weeks before our arrival date..... when we will be in the US. So not sure what will happen with that, my job for tomorrow. Got to book cabs as well now. Can't believe it is just 46 days until we go.0 -

I've got a letter from WDW and it says (regarding the ESTA) 'all British subjects or passports issued overseas do not qualify for travel on the Visa Waiver Programme and must obtain a visa for travel'.
I think I am going to change it to UK just in case.0
