We have never been to America before. I am rather scared about the flight (not a great flyer) but we are taking 2 DDs (grown up)with their partners, for OH 50th Birthday.
I am all but packed. We did the deal all seperately, (flights, found our own villa, car hire etc.) I only found out about ESTA's last night, so frantically did them this morning (immediately approved). As someone who is a terrible worrier, is there anything else I should have done?
We have park tickets and DD has american sat nav. have printed vouchers for car park, flights, car hire, villa directions
Once I know I have done everything, then I can get REALLY excited :j:j
Also try and take a photocopy of your passport and park tickets! We lost our park tickets once but with the photocopy they were able to cancel the lost ones and give us new ones!
Have a great trip!0 -

I hope this isn't the old "park at Downtown Disney for free" trick. If so, yes you will save $14 each day you visit a park. You will also have to endure up to an extra two hours on a bus crammed with sweaty resort guests. Fine if you are prepared to do that.
For the high cost of travelling all the way to Florida and buying park tickets, I don't see this as money saving, as you end up missing out on stuff as you waste so much extra time travelling. I'd rather pay the $14 and have the extra two hours in the park.
If it's another tip (annual pass purchase?) then do share it.0 -
I'm hoping to book a day at Discovery Cove when we go to Orlando later this year. I was looking at the 'Ultimate ticket' as it also includes Aquatica, Seaworld & Busch Gardens. The only thing is it's asking for a date for our visit and I'm just wondering if anyone knows if I'll only then be able to use this ticket for the other venues after this date? I want to go for my OH birthday so want yto book that day but it comes at the end of our 2 weeks there.
Any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers!:beer:0 -
Has anyone come across any good deals on Flex ticket plus? The best I can find is about £184 per adult.

I'm almost certain that the date is just for DC itself, as that has to be confirmed in advance for availability (the other parks you can just turn up) - but which company is it so people can say yes or no for certain?0 -
Thanks KarenG - I'm booking Discovery Cove Ultimate Adventure ticket with Floridatix.
I'm also wondering if it's worth getting an itinerary through the service that Simon and Susan offer (authors of Orlando Brit Guide). It'll cost me £20 as I have the book (discount for having it - £30 odd otherwise) but wondering if it's money well spent if it means a stress free well planned hol. Anyone had any experience of trying this service?0 -

Im sorry but I would never pay for an itinerary, its soo easy to do your own.
If you go to DIBBS you are able to do your own one free of charge, they have a guide for which parks are quieter on which days judging by previous years.
Weve done ours (we go Tuesday) and it was simple!0 -
I have saved £700.00 in vouchers to spend on a trip to Disney next year with OH and two grandkids 10yrs and 6 years. I need advice about the best way to spend these. Do i go for 1. the more expensive option and stay at a disney resort 2.stay in a villa or 3. stay at a cheaper hotel. I have also read that some book with Virgin and then stayed at a different Hotel as this was more cost effective. Any advice appeciated0
