Check this out on Google maps, it looks like you have to pass through the payment booths before the 'bear left' turn.
I presume this is an old tip and at some point the booths have been moved forward of the junction.

Jackie - I live here and it was the same in February (the last time I went there myself)

Hi all, we are currently arranging our holiday for June next year - a big party going - 11 adults and 2 children. Villa and flights booked, but just trying to get an idea of everything else. Noticed a parking pass was mentioned in the above post - how much was this? and where do you get them from? Does anyone know if something similar is available for the Disney parks?

Also, some advice please.... my daughter will only be 15mths old when we go and although she will be too young to really understand, I do want to take her to the magic kingdom and also animal kingdom as I think she will get some enjoyment from them. My OH and I also enjoy rollercoasters etc, so will want to do Universal, IOA and Seaworld. We are thinking of booking a freedom pass so we have unlimited access to everything, but do you think it will be worth it knowing we are travelling with such a little'un? I really like the disney fireworks and parades, and was thinking this would give us the flexibility of just going in the evenings when it is cooler as often as we wanted, rather than just getting a 2 day base ticket for disney and a flexiticket? Any advice appreciated!

    Many thanks! :)

See my directions on previous page - although some peple think that they know better and I have used this "cheat" many times and by passed it many times when going to the Grand Floridian. I have a year pass to WDW and NEVER pay for Parking! Believe it or not - It works!

    Hi jackieblack,

Very interested in this as we will be going to the WDW Parks quite a few times, when you quote DC Customer services who exactly do you mean? I tried Googling it but no luck?

    Thanks Raymondo111

Don't pay anything - see my directions!

In regards to Orlando I'm afraid it's very unlikely you'll find all that for 3 people for £1500. Flights alone could end up that much.

Maybe you could advise where you're flying from as that might help people if they know of any good bargain flights? And when do you actually want to go? Off-peak from September would be a bit cheaper than the summer holidays.
Would say your best bet is probably Salou or somewhere like that as they have a couple of water parks and Port Aventura which is a Universal-owned theme park.

    £1500.00????
My brother flying Continental to visit us Jul 27 - 3 weeks - w/hotel £336.00 each for 4 of them (him, wife, son [16] daughter [14]) - booked via Expedia and insurance £104 with Fortis.

That's fantastic! We couldn't find anything near as good. Our flights were V limited too as going from Belfast. Wish we'd found something as good as that!

    Could anyone please advise me?

We are flying out next Friday to stay in a private villa in Port Charlotte which is quite a few hours drive from Orlando. As we are taking 2 kids, aged 10 and 8 and the Parents in Law, mu husband and I want to take the girls down to Orlando for maybe 3 out of the 14 we are away.

Just wondering whether it is cheaper to book a hotel for the 3 nights in the UK, book when we arrive in the states or just drive down and see what we can get?

    Does anyone have any ideas?

If you are not worried too much about luxury - Quality Inn just off I4 at junct 55 (Route 27) are advertising $49.00 per night. It's about 15 mins to WDW (driving)

Was thinking going from mid june to late june, I will search Salou later on. I will be flying from any airport in london

Shame I was really looking forward to visit Orlando, maybe next year. :o

PS, is Port Aventura a good place. Don't want it to be spoiled by young teens with drinks and beers and chavs wandering about.

    Regards James

In my opinion (just mine) there are 'tackier' parts of Salou where you will indeed find that sort of thing, we personally like to stay in La Pineda which is right beside it and a bit quieter but still close enough to get a quick bus or even walk in. Port Aventura itself is great, good mixture of rides and shows.

As FH Brit posted above there are indeed bargains to Orlando out there so maybe someone else will be able to find you a good deal!! Don't give up hope yet!!

EDIT: have done a quick search on florida4less.co.uk (part of co-op travel group), there are quite a few holidays on there for you from around £1280 for 3 people flights and hotel going from Gatwick so you might want to have a look there and see what works out.

    Hi mollieflossie,

You could try Travel City Direct who are now operating under Virgin Holidays but use Virgin Flights etc, we are off to Orlando 27th May and cost per adult for Fly Drive is approx £700.00 each with an upgraded car (SUV) but we have booked a private Villa in Kissimmee with a pool etc for £470.00 per week. We like the extra room and convenience but the downside is you have to drive to the parks etc but we prefer to do this as it's nice to chill out after a long day in the parks in the heat.

You can't use Tesco vouchers against Travel City Direct holidays unfortunately, and you can't even use them for flydrive only for Virgin Holiday. It's package only. People have been known to book the cheapest hotel and just not use it though.
