Hello, Im sure this has already been asked but could someone help please.
Flying with Virgin end of May, can you take a fold up buggy AND a car seat ( car seat size 18month to 5 year old size), plus their baggage allowance. Also really carn't work out about baby milk and food on the flight and for airport. He is 18month so yes can ( and does) eat adult food but thought about taken food incase for on the flight. Can you take jar baby food, also can you take sma milk cartons stilled sealed. If their was milk in his bottle can it be made up or do you just carry the powder in the bottom.Do I have to drink it if its in his bottle? Not been away for a few years and all the rules have changed. I thought it was 100ml of liquid his bottle is 8 ounze.
can youhave food and drink for other children ( say a bag of crisps, pack of sweets for airport and flight)
sorry for all the questions.

sorry another question, after reading some posts page or so back am I right thinking you cannot take food and drink ( water in big bottles)into parks ( we are doing all the usual ones ). I was going to take pack lunches each day instead of buying food at the parks then I could enjoy a meal out in the evening.
are prices reasonable for lunches and evening meals.
so many questions so little time!

I was in orlando in march and went with virgin you can take a fold up buggy and car seat aswell as the usual baggage allowance.
as for the food/milk,i took some bottles of cow and gate follow on she does not normally have that but thought it might be difficult to get standard full fat until the following day,was no problem they just made me open and try it when going through security.just take what you need in to cabin and rest in suitcase or you will need to open them all to try.they also get you to taste juice although in Miami when coming home they done some sort of dip test rather than getting me to tast it or dump it like over here.it think bottles of baby food are ok,but i would definatly advise you take some as the childs meals on plane were truly disgusting and inedible.
we had no problem taking food and drink in to the disney parks so long as you use a rucksack as cooler box's are not allowed in for some reason they do check through bags before entering so could see we had food and did not say anything.universal did not allow food/drink to be taken in so you would need to purchase there or if you have a car leave it in car and pop out of park at dinner time.
saved a fortune by going to the local wallmart and buying food/drink as they do charge a lot for little at the various food outlets in the disney parks so well worth doing.0 -
Hi, we got back on sat, and we took food into universal on three occasions so I s'pose it depends who is checking your bags.
We each had a small foldaway rucksack with our food and drink in so it wasn't as obvious as a full blown picnic!

JOHNNY - Good advice about Wal-Mart (or any outside Supermarket) but heres my bit (for what it's worth!)
The Cooler boxes are not allowed into the parks as they can cause a few problems especially those larger "pull along" types. WDW probably are cautious as they could have liability if your cooler "smashes" someone's ankles. Also the security aspect (similar to unattended bags at airports) and of course, what do you do with it when you are on the rides?
Universal have never challenged me with food (I have annual pass and go regular) - perhaps it is the type of food rather than just food - but here's a thought, if you go more than once, save any Universal shops bags (and free refill drink cups - get free refills on other days!) to put your food in saying you just bought it at CityWalk on the way in! Also another "excuse" may be that you have nut allergies, lactose intolerant, celiac, etc etc and you will be glad to buy their food, but if there is any cross contamination you'll sue them - I bet they'd let you bring it in!
NIBS - You may have hit the nail on the head - the security are pretty inconsistent - If you get a new employee they tend to be a little "jobsworth" the more experienced use their common sense a little better.C. (Ex-Pat Brit)

i had a car as part of package booked with virgin hols, they use Alamo and i found them to be very good when picking car up and dropping back off.
dont know how much driving you will be doing but they offered me a sun pass for the toll roads cost $20 i think, enabled me to drive straight through the toll booths.i used toll roads a lot airport to i-drive,orlando to kennedy and to miami and back and then back to miami so i reckon the tolls alone would probably have cost more than the sun pass so if you plan on doing a lot of driving it is worth buying one in my opinion.0 -

It is quite easy to avoid tolls in and around Orlando and indeed Florida.
I agree some are unavoidable but i honestly don't think $20 represents good value when you consider that the Turnpike aside most tolls are from $0.50 to $1 and the likelihood of going through 10 tolls, never mind 20 are really pretty non existent at best. The Summer Holiday of a Lifetime0 -
You are not wrong, but we drive around Florida a lot (planning 900+ miles in a couple of weeks, circular tour) and although we may not save with a SunPass, I find it irritating scrabbling for change/stopping to get change, so worth the cost to me to sail straight through. Wouldn't bother if staying around Orlando though.0

For us, it was more cost effective to join the AA via quidco for the cashback, then use the AA discount on Hertz (10%). If you log in to the AA website it directs you though the members benefits area which puts on the discount.
Incidentally, you may wish to get the AA card for AAA benefits in the US, gives food discounts and much more.0
