No need to worry. ID is generally not asked for and you normally sign the tickets yourself anyway.

I always get asked for ID for picking up Disney tickets, but don't worry wishies - it is your ID they will need, not your dad's :)

Re: Virgin Twilight Check In. Can I check us all in or do we all have to be there?

Wondering if it is safe to leave the dog in the car while we do the Twilight check in - do you think it wise?

Taking her to MIL and the airport is en-route so figured we could get that done and then drop her off and stay with MIL for the day before coming back and getting a hotel.

I do know that when I bought Universal tickets on line a couple of years ago I did need to show the visa card I used to collect tickets. NOt sure if that has changed now.

Blue Monkey - I am sure that you all need to be there I am afraid.

Thanks mum, I thought we did but I don't like leaving the dog. I am way too soft, LOL. It is going to be October and their short stay car park is under cover so I am sure she will be fine in the car for half an hour - I just worry.

Actually, I think I might try and find a doggy creche in the Gatwick area while we go and check in.

ETA: We have found one so we are going to drop her into there while we check in. If anyone else is interested: http://www.k9capers.com/branches/dog_walking_crawley.asp They are also licensed Home Boarders so your dog can stay with them for the duration of your holiday.
  • Ah, i see you need to show ID to collect tickets, i've always bought actual tickets before i went and never ever had to show ID over there. No right or wrong answer i suppose.

We recently returned from Orlando (a week before a certain volcano erupted :)).

A month prior to our trip, I bought 14 day Disney tickets from their UK website for 3 adults & 2 kids using my Visa card. I printed out the A4 receipt & took it with me on holiday.

On the first day we arrived at Magic Kingdom & went over to the Will Call booths. Only I had to show photo ID (passport) as the transaction was on my card & no other names showed on the A4 receipt anyway. I collected all 5 tickets & we then individually signed each ticket.

If any of our regulars are stuck in Florida at the moment and can't get home, Sea World has offered free entry to stranded travellers. Nice touch!

    Hi all,

This is my first ever post on the forum although I have been a long time reader.

I am going to Florida on the 5th June and plan a week in Orlando and a week at St Petes.

I have been going round in circles trying to get the best value theme park tickets for our first week and would like some advice.

    We are planning to hit four parks, with both Universals being definites. Here comes my first two questions;
    • Based on our itinerary we will be doing each park for one day once. Advice seems to be to pre-book tickets to save money. However the only ones I can see to book for the two Universal Parks are the '14 day unlimited access' ones, the best value total so far being £162 for 2 adults, which works out at just over £40 each person for each Universal park. Is £40 an average/low/high daily entry price to the park? I am wondering that as we are only visiting one day each park whether we would be better buying gate tickets/booth tickets or if the 14 day pass is still the best value regardless of us only using it for 2 days.
    • If we were to purchase the above 14 day tickets how easy/likely is it to be able to sell the remaining days on the pass (probably 9 days left on it as doing the two parks within the first 5 days) to a booth or alike? Would we get any value or just a nominal amount like $5?

The other two attractions are probably going to be Seaworld and Discovery Cove (with Dolphin Swim). I haven't read much on the forums about Discovery Cove. I have read good reviews on Trip Advisor, but from a Money Saver user perspective, is it good value?
    • Best value I have found for these two parks is £358 with dolphin swims. The best/cheapest site appears to be 'Floridatix'. Does anybody have any experience/views on this site or know any better value sellers?

Thanks a lot for any help.

(Oh and I'm still on the lookout for any good car offers for our second week at St Pete's!)

You can get 12% cashback if you book your universal tickets and Discovery Cove on Expedia via Quidco.

I haven't had a look at ticket prices recently - we are planning to revisit in October 2011 so not much point yet - however last time we went in 2008 we visited Discovery Cove and found buying them direct from their website to be the best value. Have you had a look there? x
