No Mr Lahey aka Kenny Powers aka sturll, you are the one who thinks they are "slick" with your put downs to anyone on a thread who happens to have a different opinion to you.

You are bringing nothing to this thread, again, and it would be appreciated if you kept your posts to constructive, helpful advice rather than your rather bigoted opinions.

    Who is Kenny Powers??

I have to say though, this post of yours brings nothing to the thread. If only you were the mod you think you are :p

Slick? Each to their own. We do what we want to do while there and not having a car has not hindered us, we don't need to be told that we HAVE to have a car and can manage perfectly well without one.

In fact, would be cheaper for us as we have a Blue Badge so no parking fee at WDW but I go on holiday for a break. My husband spends the whole of the time in the UK clinging to his seat and telling me how to drive. Do I want that on holiday? Do I want to listen to him moaning about whatever the traffic is like and moaning at other drivers for their crap driving? No way!!

He has no desire to drive and neither do I. It certainly does not stop us doing what we want to do and go where we want to go, when we want to go. There is absolutely nothing wrong with not having a car and I am trying to show that we spend the same on taxi's as we would do on hiring a car and still do and go where we want.

We even got taxi's from the hotel down the 192 for breakfast and then picked up the bus to WDW. And Taxi's from WDW a few times when we was too tired for the bus. We were probably back at our hotel by the time it took some people to get back to their car. And some of the queues getting into WDW were hprrendous while we sailed through.

We saw nothing that gave us any desire to drive a car out there.

We do the same Blue, hubby used to drive for a living and likes a break on holiday. Our daughter is still young enough to want to spend most of her time in the parks/waterparks so thats what we do. Mears shuttles are great for getting out and about. Lots of people rave about villas and having a car but we love staying onsite at Disney and Universal and stress free travel being chauffered around lol.

Everbodys different I can't see why people get agitated just because we don't want to drive on holiday. confused smilie gone.

We are going to Florida in September and are hiring a car. Do you need the paper licence as well as the photo licence whilst driving over there?

Me and my wife have both lost our paper ones.

Whether or not you need to produce the paper counterpart licence, the fact alone that you have lost them should be cause for concern...

I would be more concerned with identity theft!! Report it lost and get a new one.

Exactly Floflo, it's $50 for a limo for an hour so we are going to look into that and hire one to take us from the airport. How fab is it going to be for the kids (and us!!).

Hubby drives for a living too. I can't see the point in having a car or villa myself - unless it's to get you to Walmart quicker, 24/7.

I don't even unpack and spend the whole holiday living out of suitcases. My friends all think I am nuts. I'll hang shirts up but we only take 2 of 3 of those.

Definitely report it, you don't know who could be using it right now. We were burgled and hubbys driving licence was stolen, he reported it luckily as months later police turned up to arrest him! Someone had been using it as ID to cash cheques stolen from another burglary.

Austin Powers Dad!! Who KarenG spotted straight away. You have a magical way with words. Pun intended.
Who will you turn up as next!!!
And for once I do agree with all of you Sturl that it is much easier with a car. But its each to there own!

Blue Monkey Blue badge does not get you free parking at WDW only parking at the front of car parks, but I would suggest you ask the cast member to park at the end of a row for the tram, especially in the Magic Kingdom.

Thanks atro, on DISboards it said you get free parking so that is why I said it.

It does not matter to us really, we don't drive out there, I was just saying like for like the cost of cabs is the same as hiring a car for us. I'd rather pay for a cab but we are staying in WDW so will use their transport anyway. That is why we did 1 week in ID and the other 2 in WDW. We only really go for the parks and for some shopping.

    Hi
I'm thinking of taking my two ages 8, 9 to WDW end of june / july - there is an offer on with WDW hotels after 5th July to 'dine for free', i'm thinking of staying in a villa for the first week and doing the disney hotel on the 5th july for a week!
Am after a bit of info about villa's / hotels, also best way to book - is it a good idea to book flights seperately? I was thinking of using my tesco vouchers towards it???

One more question - is the offer that is currently on regarding 14day ultimate ticket for disney and the universal worth it? I know we will spend 7 days in disney but doubt i will spend that many days in universal.

Some people will tell you different about hotels/villas.

However, I found a great deal on WDW Villas when I was looking. I've booked a 1 bed apartment in OKW Villa, including meals, for £996 Have a read of this, the first 3 posts tell you how to get the best deal on tickets and accomodation: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2259151

One thing to bear in mind, you have to buy the Ultimate Tickt with your package to get the free dining plan and they do a 14night for the price of 7. Sell the rest of the ticket at a ticket booth and get some money back if you are not going to use it.

Also includes the Deluxe villa resorts so you get kitchens as well. Dining does not include breakfast and breakfast onsite is either crap or expensive (IMO) and so we can have breakfast this way.

Depends on how many vouchers you have - Virgin give an online discount and you cannnot use vouchers for tickets (never used to be able to anyway) but we found that it is cheaper to book accomodation seperately and do a 'fly drive'.

That thread will tell you more though as it was quite long winded to explain it all.
