  • Paid over here in the UK from Travel Republic, but if your going next year I wouldn't buy yet as this years tickets might not been any good for you. You'll need to check if anywhere has 2011 tickets yet, I don't think you'll get any this early.

Hi Princess, sorry- I meant to include that lol.

    There 2 adults and 2 children (5,7).

I think the Disney ones were ultimate.. but it still seams expensive compared to yours doesn't it.

Is that the price you paid over there then?

    Thanks for replying x

I don't think you'll need 14 day tickets, the most I've ever bought is 10 day. (for a two week stay). don't forget there is so much more to do than Disney.
Universal, Airboat rides (Alligators), Seaworld (We always do two days in Seaworld!!), shopping etc.
Check out the first page on this thread for many useful links.
will you be hiring a car?

Do you know what, I didn't even know you could get anything other than 7/14 day tickets!

I have heard of Seaworld, that's on our list of things to see.. I've not looked into the aligators though and DS did mention wanting to see them, so thats a good idea, thanks :)

I think I need to do some more research as you say..

We did look at car hire but the car they include with the holiday was going to cost us £280 to insure, so we thought we'd be better just hiring one ourselves for a few days instead? Do you know what company is best?

We're going to book with Carhire3000. They seem pretty good on price and my colleague (who used them last year) was very impressed and he's been to Florida loads of times so is usually good for info!!
  • Hi all,

The 2 week car insurance was more than I pay here for a whole year!. We are hoping to go back this summer but when we went in December 2005 we didn't bother with a car. We stayed at Caribbean beach for 3 weeks and the transport links are so convenient & easy to use. The £300 we saved on insurance went on taxi's when we visited Seaworld, the malls, international drive & Universal. We were still quids in (or dollars!) and spent no where near as much as having a car and we could both relax instead about worrying who's going to drive!

  • As above. This is what we do too!! Much, much easier, less stressful and much cheaper.

I get a taxi drivers card the first days we are there and book via them if we are going for a day out and we get a cheaper rate then. Plus it helps the driver know where you are when you leave your bag in the cab.....:o:o:o :rotfl: Yes really. It had our passports in it.....:eek::eek::eek:

We are doing a week in Int Drive and will do stuff that end and then going to Disney to do the rest of our time there.

We are Disney Freaks, it is why we go. Each to their own and all that.
  • Thanks for your replies everyone, I'm getting giddy talking about it lol. :rotfl:

We did manage to get free transfers to and from airport, so thought we could use the free shuttles instead of having a car. I'm glad that's what you all do as well, cos a couple of people at work made it sound like we were well wierd for not hiring a car!

Our booking confirmation came this morning so we're really giddy :D

    xx
  • We don't drive & find it an absolute doddle going through Orlando without a car HTH

  • Would people recommend Travelrepublic as a good place to get park passes from? I've checked prices compered to what the travel company have stated and they seem much cheaper.

Also does anyone know a good car hire company that has a base at Orlando Sanford Airport?

    Hi,

Sorry if this has already been asked, but I searched and came up with nothing..

We have just booked a hol to I Drive (our first visit to Florida) for next Jan for 2 weeks.
We got a good price for the package holiday but are unsure whether to add the theme park tickets on to the holiday?? We have been quoted for the 14N disney park tickets which includes all parks, and the Orlando flexi plus 14N aswell- £1700.
It seems alot to us, even though we knew they weren't going to come cheap.. Is this the best way to buy the tickets or is it cheaper to buy them once over there?

Thanks for any advice you can give

    sweet x

    Hi

You may want to check out this website for park tickets it works out cheaper i think than £1700. We always buy our tickets from them when we get there but you can get them before hand

    http://www.officialticketcenter.com

they do do special offers in the shop that may be not on the website.
