Hi Di and thanks. She didnt actually receive a questionnaire. They said she filled one in at the appointment. They have sent her a letter with a copy enclosed of a tick box of 4 questions she filled in at the time so that they could advise her the best policy. She crossed that she had death cover and they then sold her PPI for critical illness and blah blah blah. She didnt sign though except her loan agreement which included the PPI. How is best to go forward. It was 1600! ridiculous.

Hi Shamrock, that was me getting my wires crossed.....:o, as many have mentioned these questionaire's but I know what your getting at now.

First of all was that the final response from Lloyds TSB?
Did they give details of the Financial ombudsman service (FOS)?

If not then write back to them, ask them to reconsider and to reasons that were given on the letter send to them, try to make them a little stonger if you can, also act on the reasons they have give as well.

They have sent this as a standard basic response.

Let me give you an idea on mine in regards of Lloyds TSB, in Jan 2001 they sold me a Credit Card, told me where to sign and that was that, now when receiving the copy of my agreement I noted the for the first time the cover that was not ticked my myself.

Anyway in regards of cancellation as they did try to fob me off by saying that I could have cancelled and so on, I never done this sooner because I thought they meant the actual credit card itself, so for instance if I cancelled I assumed I would have to pay it all back, in other words the balance.

I did not even know what PPI was until recent years.

Anyway I was not "fully" protected as I was an houseperson, with just the children's benefits, Lloyds TSB did try fobbing me off by stating that "you will still be covered for Job solutions, life cover and hospitalisation, yet I was not working and was not covered for unemployment cover, the FOS did see this in my favour, why should I pay out for something that would not have fully covered me anyway.

So hope this sort of gives you an idea where to take this from here, please shout up anytime.;)

Any way alittle update, still awaiting how much am gonna get of Bank of Scotland, they have 2 weeks left to let me know the amount.

    Quick question

I looked at my old PPI agreements etc and you have to tick and sign if you agree.

All I did was sign, does it make any difference?

    Hi Kev

    Not to worry about this.
They do tend to fob off by stating that you must have been aware that you were taking out PPI as you signed blah blah blah, but saying that with mine I did not get the chance when in the bank to read through, just sign and that was that, and most of the banks have their own de-generated ticks or crosses etc.

You can argue this, but that is just standard in this case.;)
