tea - at a baby shower i went too a few weeks ago, the pregnant girl said 'why have they increased the age of people allowed to have IVF... just let them have nice lives and nice holidays!'...

As it was the girl's baby shower, I bit my tongue and decided to let her carry on living.

:eek: That is more self-control than I'd have managed!

Really fed up with my no-show AF now. All week I've been thinking we're about to get going with ICSI again but it's just not happening. Just a bit of brown CM (sorry, I know that's grim!) but not all the time and it never develops into anything more substantial. After how many days of this should I just call the clinic anyway? This is now day 4 (CD36 overall).

BZ, I skipped Clomid this month and am CD 40 - FS said Clomid would linger in my system so would probably be normalish cycle. Maybe not :-(

Tealover - silly question, but have you tested? (Sorry if you have and it's neg)

FWIW, BZ, I'd have a break from Clomid too...

AFM.. Waiting for AF to arrive. No symptoms either way. Have started doing the 5:2 diet .. We'll see what happens!

Had a total meltdown at church on Mothering Sunday :( the vicar did wonderful prayers about people who wanted to be mothers and couldn't.. Bless. Then had random parishioners coming up with hugs as they thought my mum had died. Had to explain she hadn't.. & then why I was upset. Fab. Bit of a rubbish day all told. Luckily my DD was really wonderful & just hugged me all the way through the rest of the service...

Wtdn, glad I can be of service now & again ;):D (it was driving me potty too)
You're more gracious than me, I think I'd've at least knocked one of her teeth out :p

TLowe, I think there shoulda be a law about justifiable homicide when it comes to siblings:cool:

Tea I hope AF sorts itself out soon, I hate that feeling of "is it now? How about now? No, now?"

One step :( I've had Mothering Sunday's similar to that  Me & Dh beggared off to the countryside this year. Made it much more bearable to be further from civilisation, especially as it was Dh's first without Mil..:o

V, I read your post too late :o hope your cycle sorts itself out soon though!

I've/we've decided to skip clomid this cycle. As much as I have no faith in it doing anything useful, I like the idea of having a little something in reserve. And I want a break from it. So, hopefully I'll feel less grim this cycle, even if it is just by degrees ;)

The cramps are giving me gip though. And to stick the boot in some more, today was the day I had to go with (long story) my heavily pregnant friend to the antenatal dept at the hospital...and sit with all the other ladies at various stages of their pregnancies  Thankfully I'd dosed up on various painkillers beforehand and was starting to get a little goofy :p;)

Well finally cd1 today....at last! Have scan tomorrow mornin & should start menopur tomorrow evening. Feeling v nervous & a bit overwhelmed. Not sure why, we'd already got to this point last time.

The woman at work surpassed herself yesterday....apparently people only need ivf in the first place because they drink too much. *rollseyes*

TL - wishing you all the luck in the world with the treatment. Really hope it will result in a lovely BFP for you. It is understandable to feel over whelmed and nervous. Don't know how you didn't kill your colleague!!!
  • Hi bz I agree that if you feel like taking a break you should. I was awful on Clomid took it for 3 months and had the worst cramps, bleeding ever!! I also had sickness and diawoowoo on ever first day af but my doctor said it wasn't the Clomid but I disagree!!!

Good luck Tealover.I really wish you the best and fingers crossed for a BFP

    Update from me
got my teach session end of this month and then starting long down reg middlish of May.a bit apprehensive of the journey I am starting but I'm guessing it's normal to feel this way.
Wondered if you ladies who have done the long down the already could give advice to how you feel during this time etc. I will be working full time and going out to the appointments I will book a couple of days off for ec and rest a day or two afterwards but then back to work. Most of my work colleagues won't/don't know.

Also it's a big birthday for me during the first injections and a night away has already been booked ask don't drink it won't be a problem but wondering if ill be tired Moody not a nice person to be around but I don't want to cancel either as its something to take my mind off the pending situation

    Thanks in advance xxx

    Hello everyone.
I'm hyper aware of making comments about bumps, babies etc incase I inadvertently offend anyone, poor mrh got a bollocking for asking my brother when they were going for number 2 :o
BZ, hope you're feeling better, I can't comment on your clomid dilemma as I have never been that route, I hope you came to a decision that you are happy with.
tea lover, good luck, fingers crossed for you.
i love holidays, I was really uncomfortable for a few days after the collection, which took me a bit by surprise.

I'm back at work now, :( I have really enjoyed the time off, it gave me time to heal emotionally from the last few months, and I had a lovely time pretending to be a lady who lunches-lots of long walks and lots of crafting-I could quite happily not work :p I spoke to my FS today and have an appointment later this month to discuss what to do next-he mentioned donor eggs as I only managed 2 at collection and only 1 fertilised (which is totally average for using frozen sperm) Mrh is working away this week, so I've not been able to talk through donor eggs with him, I don't really have a problem with it (I think) but we need to have a proper talk about it.

Woohoo, tomorrow is Friday :T and I am babysitting my niece on Saturday, gotta love spending time with the little boss lady, she is bonkers :D

Will be glad when this is over. Have had a lot of internal scans before but never during af, surely there must be a better way of seeing what's in there!

Well scan went ok, so ICSI starts (again) this evening. Bring on the menopur!

Got another scan on tuesday, so have just had to email my boss and ask for yet more time off. I'm already off monday for a funeral. Chances are I'll need another scan on thursday too so looks like I might be working for about half an hour in total next week.

OH has to provide another sample, as apparently they were worried about contamination with the last one and need to check if he needs antibiotics. Bit weird as his last sample was about 6 months ago and we've had a lot of appts since then so I've no idea why they've only just mentioned this.
