Been a brave girl today and did all the necessary phone calls to my parents and sister with the appropriate level of enthusiam. 'How clear the scan pic is, how cute my mum's pregnant snow woman!' Even bit my tongue when I asked about Dad's response to sisters pregnancy and was told 'He feels like he's accomplished what he was put on this earth to do - reproduce'. (Kick in the stomach). But very few tears and at least it's out of the way. Decided to bite the bullet and told best friend and inlaws about fertility problems. Gonna have to tell my family in the next few days somehow, if only to make 10 days holiday with them a bit more bearable. Hubby been great, not been pleasant to be around me this weekend. Only glad I'm not near them, spoiling their happiness. And thank God I've got an appointment with FS on Wed! Hope everyone else has had a better weekend. V x

you ever get that frustrating way when you dont know you've ov'd?
i am confused as we started iui on 6th jan cycle got abandoned wed 16th due to overstimulation and the nurse said we would ov in next few days but that doesnt go with my regular cycle which is approx 32 days
so im unsure when my 2ww is i am guessing i ov'd on the fri which means holding out until 1st feb
what exactly happens with ov'in after climid and gonal f? i dont really know where to start or go from here

    Hi VK,
I can't answer your question, but have another if anyone can help.

Does anyone have clue what might happen to me post Egg Collection? I'm not putting any back, so I'm not getting progesterone or anything for transfer, so after the eggs are collected I have no idea what will happen to my cycle.

I appreciate it's slightly strange to do IVF without any intention of transferring one back, but thought people here might have an idea - if not experience, then any theories are welcomed!

EC on Thursday. The staff seemed happy with my progress. I've got at least 12 large follicles, and a few more smaller ones which may mature in time. Fingers crossed we get a few good embryos to put in the freezer!

time2deal, i don't know as we have always had the transfer but i am guessing you wouldn't have to take anything as all the drugs are for getting your womb ready.

Sorry - I know I don't need drugs, but I'm more thinking when AF might show up. Immediately... or 2 weeks later... who knows!

Actually I am supposed to take the nasal hormone suppressor spray for 2 weeks, which was really bad news today. I really struggled with that before (depression, moodyness, etc) and not looking forward to doing it again.

Now I think about it, that probably means I will stay in fake 'menopause' for a few weeks. Not looking forward to it!

I've been in exactly the situation, t2d. During my second round of IVF, none of the eggs fertilised so I was left with no egg transfer.

It was absolutely fine. As I hadn't over-stimulated (and I guess you haven't either) I felt physically fine. About 10 days later I got my period as usual. Emotionally I was pretty up and down (because I'd hoped for a different result) and I wondered whether this might be exacerbated by taking the hormones. Looking back on it, it was probably all due to feeling miserable that things hadn't worked out and nothing to do with the drugs.

As you're going in prepared to have the eggs retrieved and nothing more at this stage then I bet you'll feel fine. Your main anxiety will be worrying about getting some top-notch embryos.

When you're ready for the ET after you've had all your fanny treatment, be sure to let me know and we can talk about frozen transfers because I've done that too :)

Lol - well put! My fanny and I are looking forward to that day. :)

I shouldn't be overstimulated and I feel fine now. They have actually dropped my last menopur injection tomorrow, so I suppose they must think I've had enough. I've got two more acupunture sessions, although it feels like everything is too late to help now - job is done, now it's fingers crossed time.

I downregged the second time I had IVF - the time I'm talking about. (I didn't the first - just a normal antagonist cycle). I didn't feel any worse for having been in a menopausal state. Just had a period as normal. You stop taking all the drugs prior to the EC anyway. Obviously if you're anticipating an ET you carry on with the progesterone but that doesn't normally make much difference to your mood. You'll be tippy-top, promise.
