Have any clomid ladies experienced mid cycle bleeding? I bled from days 9-15 last month, more than spotting but less than a period, and it freaked me out a little. More cos I thought how can the embryo implant if I've just bled away my womb lining! The doc said not to worry, but of course I did.

time2deal, i had slightly different protocol to the others on my last 2 cycles, where there is no downregging you have your period then have a scan on day 3 then 12-14 days of the stim drugs, they tend to do this if you are older or a poor responder my consultant says, it's called the short protocolt.

well an update from me, i started bleeding red blood yesterday afternoon, so the clinic booked us in for a scan this morning, had a sleepless night and managed to get myself in a bit of a state, i was shaking as she was scanning me then we saw a perfect heartbeat and i burst into tears, they were lovely and did lots of checksnd the measurements are perfect. i am still bleeding, though not as much so they are going to lower my dose of clexane to see if that helps, and they are giving me weekly scans to stop me worrying.

Glad all is well runner, and that you'll be getting the reassurance scans.

Ani, I've had spotting on clomid in the first cycle mainly, but nothing more than that.

Runner - great news you saw a heartbeat, I hope the bleeding stops soon. I had the same sleepless night when i saw red blood but it was only once. I hope the weekly scans will help put your mind a bit at ease. Sending you lots of sticky vibes. xx

    Hey ladies,

Runnerduck, glad the scans were good. Must be a very scary time, you know you have us all behind you, as much as that can help! I find it oddly comforting knowing there are people thinking of me when I go through these things.

Thanks for all the info on IVF - it was good to know a bit more when we went in today. I think we got fast-tracked to the senior lady at the clinic, as we didn't actually have an appointment, but my cancer consultant had called around and made sure I was seen today. May as well play the card when I can!

She was very knowledgeable, and nice enough - if a little downbeat about our chances.

I'm doing a week of the nasal spray, then start the stimulating injections. The consultant was quite negative about it all.. saying the chance of getting eggs was low, then the chance of them surviving freezing, then implantation taking place... etc. Not exactly inspiring! But nothing I didn't know, and I suppose they have to stop you getting too hopeful. I am sort of planning to get no eggs, to try and not be too upset... but in reality I can't stop myself hoping a bit.

She has put me on the egg donation waiting list though - not exactly a GREAT sign!

But, we did get some really good news on the cancer today. Scans have come back to show it doesn't look like it's in the lymph nodes, and I can probably have only the smaller surgery to remove the cervix - not a full hysterectomy. Possibly can even get away without radiation. Which is great news, and may mean we get another chance on egg collection, and possibly even carry a baby myself. I will even tentatively start to hope that perhaps I could get pregnant late this year, which would be a miracle from where I was only a month ago.

Back to work tomorrow, after what seems like a looooooooooong time off. So much has happened and changed, it will be really weird to go back!

Thanks for the support everyone - it feels like a little more light at the end of the tunnel is appearing. :)

T2D - ivf clinics are always upfront about chances and in my experience never sugar coat and so don't give up hope of it working. Good news about the cancer, you must feel a lot more positive.

thats great news about the cancer not having spread time2deal, it will be so much more of a chance with the fertility, i think generally they try not to get your hopes up with the egg collections as no-one knows how you will respond until the treatment starts, but it sounds like your clinc is trying hard by fitting you in straight away, and hopefully they will be as helpful with your treatments xx

thanks, it helps to know others have been there and the outcome was good, the bleeding is only spotting now and so i'm trying hard to ignore it and look at my little scan picture :)
