Epsil, great to hear from you again and I am so pleased for you and your wife, after all you have been through you deserve it. In between my ICSI cycles I got made redundant and found a new job which I actually enjoyed and often wondered if that helped me get pregnant in a funny way.
I hope you get an early scan to put your mind a little at rest. Great news, congrats and I am so happy for you both. Keep us posted. xBEST WIN LAST YEAR - MULBERRY HANDBAGSENDING STICKY VIBES TO THOSE WHO NEED THEM0 -
Sorry for quick post, just to say to Lilymay, I've not had follicule tracking, just blood test CD21 to confirm ovulation.
Happy new year everyone xx0 -
Epsi - thank you for your story. It gives me hope to hear stories like yours and many congratulations to you and your OH!
It's funny you mention about the job - I often wonder if stress does play a big part in infertility.
To all of us here: here's to 2013 and let's hope we have all graduated from this thread by this time next year.

Lily, I had a tracking scan on cd13 (should've been cd12) I think, and a cd21 blood test (actually on cd21). No idea what the blood test said, but it must've been ok cos I had no call
Ttc40/lily, on the tracking scan they saw at least 3 large follicles that were ready to pop.
Lily, no slimming world or weight watchers or any of that. It's not my style and I'm dubious about programmes/diets, personally. Just cut out processed food and cooked from scratch as much as possible - checked out what real recommended portion sizes are and adjusted what we were having to meet that. Drink mostly just water, at least 2l a day - but I was doing that previously anyway. We eat pretty much anything we fancy, but within reason and moderation. If I don't think I can be trusted not to gorge on a particular thing, I don't bring it into the house.
We've changed our lifestyles though, not just "gone on a diet" - part of the aim of this was always to live a healthier lifestyle to bring up any future family in.DH and I were both brought up as fatty kids and I don't want a child of mine/under my care to have the same, if we can help it.
Epsil, congratulations! Please keep us posted on how you're doing
Sending love to those struggling through the "festive" period (I'm with you there ) and Happy 2013 to us all!

Evening ladies,
I am back in Sunny (!) London, and have my first IVF appointment tomorrow for the egg collection cycle. I have to try tonight and track down all the paperwork from recent tests, but they do say they want to do another scan. Kind of a pain as I have to pay for everything again, but such is life I suppose.
For those that have done stimulated IVF, can you tell me what the protocol is? ie - how many injections, how often, how many scans etc, and how you felt. Also how the eggs are actually retrieved. I had heard it was under a general, but I'm not sure if that is the case...
How did you co-ordinate the scans and appointments with work? Is it feasible to still go to work full time while it's going on?
Also, any ideas what I should ask? I may end up with working ovaries at the end of the cancer treatment, and if so does anyone know if they could do another egg collection cycle (bearing in mind there may not be fallopian tubes etc attached to them!)
Lots of questions - but it would be good to get advice from those who have been through it. Thanks!0
