Today's silly question coming up....
I have a TV US on monday (CD4) as I start clomid tomorrow. I'll definitely still be bleeding (AF usualy 6-7 days). How does that work?? I double checked with the nurse when I made the appt and she said it was fine, so it's obv something they're used to. But it's totally not something I'm used to! Am really embarrassed at the thought of it already.
What are the logistics of this please?0 -
Tea lover i'm sure it's nothing they don't deal with all the time, i had a scan whilst i was still bleeding during my mc and they didn't bat an eyelid, it was just the usual condom on the wand, wand straight up, wand out, condom thrown away. so there's no chance of your blood making the equipment messy and i'm sure they'll let you keep a pad under your butt if it's heavy x xLittle Lowe born January 2014 at 36+6

Sorry I have been MIA.
I wanted to confirm before posting that I am pregnant and got a BFP!!!!!:j:eek:
I am still in a state of shock. I can't believe on my 5th attempt and a FET that I am actually pregnant. I have had a blood test and have good high levels of HCG which shows that it is strong, she suspected I could have twins if i had more than 1 embryo put back but we only had the one so it must be a good one.
I'm trying not to get to excited as we are a long way off but i have never been in this position before and was about to give up on all the treatment.
I'm not sure if it will ever sink in.

Fantastic news juju! Hope it all goes swimmingly for you from now on.
Could it be identical twins? When we did our failed IVF, we were told even if one embryo is put back there is still a chance of it splitting and becoming identical twins. I think it might depend on when the transfer took place and be more likely with an earlier transfer than a later one though.0 -
Congratulations juju!! Wishing you the best of health for the rest of your pg. x0

I was gonna post last night to ask specifically about you, but didn't for some reason! So happy to come on to your news today!
Tealover : I understand completely. I have that same fear, regardless of whether they tell me it's fine. They are used to it though, and they have to wear gloves and all that, and they have protective pads etc underneath your bum anyway, so from that angle it should be ok. Also, I don't know if you've had a TV US before, but mine was in a really darkened room and she put a sheet thing over my legs and just put her "wand" under the sheet, so it's not as visually cringey as smear tests where they seem to peer at your bits!
Hopefully that reassures you?

I'm having a bit of a miserable day today, personally. I have been on the Norithisterone (sp?) for about 10days now and I'm bleeding again today
got cramps and everything. So now I'm doubting they'll let me have the HSG (on the 14th, premature worry, I know but I'm paranoid!). I just feel like I'm never gonna get this all sorted and I'll be broken & childless forever, at this point
(I know it probably sounds melodramatic, but I feel rubbish today
Maybe too many hormones?)
In other news though, I saw my GP yesterday and got the result of my GTT that I had done last week. Last year, after finding out I had PCOS I went for a GTT and they found I had Impaired Glucose Tolerance (pre-diabetes). This, plus the PCOS, terrified me, both because of the prospect of fertility issues, and because of the prospect of diabetes (my MIL died recently from lots of culminating diabetes-related issues).
Fast forward to now, I've lost 4stone now, and now longer have IGT!!
I'm "normal"! My level was 8.5 last time. Now it's 6.2. And anything up to 7.8 is normal. So I'm well within!!
My GP was well impressed
He also said that my iron level is only likely to go up at a rate of about 0.5 a month, so it's probably gonna take me the best part of 6months of taking a LOT of iron to get back to a normal level in that, so at least I can adjust my expectations for that. No wonder I still feel so pants though, I guess "I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
Juju - yay congrats that is great news - so happy for you :j:j
Tealover - I can understand your concerns but sure all will be ok, like others have said it is not as invasive as a smear and you will be covered and the wand is always covered by a condom which is thrown straight into the bin.
BZ - hugs hugs, how frustrating, it is no wonder you are feeling down with the bleeding. Please don't feel like it will never happen you have done so well with your weight loss and fs is going to give you clomid and so things are progressing - you will get there but I know that it does help for now and that you want your baby now. Such great news about your levels and being normal - you have achived so much - please don't be hard on yourself :T0
