Thanks primmer. I'll try to remember that. Hope I won't then clench nervously cos I know I need a pee! :p

Good luck with your meds and ivf cycle. Will you have to do injections? I forget now, were you ever given clomid to try, or anything, before this point?

    Good luck Primmer.

CD14 here. Been away for the weekend & was organised & took ov sticks but forgot the digi bit you stick them in - doh!

Did a test last night when I got home & no smiley face. Did it again at 4.00am & got smiley face so assume I will ov today/ tomorrow.

We have BD'd each day for the last 3 (good things about a weekend away).

OH is away with work tonight - so I have a 4 hour round trip to BD with him tonight (and hopefully tomorrow morning)! Hope it's worth it & OH doesn't feel too much pressure!

BZ - fertility specialist said blood tests showed ov and cycles were regular and so she thought no point in clomid and that as I am fast approaching 40 I should go straight for ivf if we could afford it. So since seeing fertility specialist things have moved quite quickly! Yes will have to do injections later in treatment but sniffing nasal spray at beginning.

TTC40 - sounds like you are busy with bding! Weird now that DH and I can only bd with protection because of ivf drugs after nearly 3 years of no protection!

Primmer, my FS has suggested Clomid if nothing happens in next few months.

Not sure why as tests show I ov. Anyway, hope it won't come to that.

I'm 41 - so time not on our side, but don't think we will do IVF if it doesn't happen - only cycle 2 since my tubes have been cleared.

Good luck on Clomic TTC40. You are right about its limited use for those who OV. Clomid can work miracles for those that don't OV. For those who do, I reckon it's little more than a placebo, to make you feel you're doing something.

Buys time. In the meantime, you might get pg, and if you do, you'll ascribe it to the Clomid, when actually, you might have got pg anyway.

It's not even available in Scotland, because of how ineffective it is judged to be.

Despite all that it's probably worth a go - I know plenty of anecdotes of people getting pg on Clomid. And who cares then whether it was the Clomid or not?

Like the old adage 'How long does it take to recover from a cold? As soon as 7 days with antibiotics, but without them, it could take up to a week.'

But it probably doesn't do any harm. I'd take it by the bucketload - even if I thought there were health risks - if I thought it would work.

But my eggs are impervious to everything..!

I'm not on Clomid (yet), FS has said it's an option if I don't get pg.

Agree that it doesn't matter if it's the Clomid or not which makes a difference.

I feel like we're trying clomid to tick it off, so we can move onto the next thing to try.

Is anyone paying privately for Clomid?

    If so, what's the cost?

Mine's NHS so can't help you with that one, sorry. I somehow managed to get the clomid free (bonus) as there was a mix up at the hospital pharmacy and they kept me waiting ages while they faxed things around between hospitals. By the time they'd finished the poor woman was flapping around and I think she just wanted me to leave tbh. Wasn't till I got back to the car I realised I hadn't paid the £7.65. Felt a bit bad but hey, the NHS gets loads out of me for prescriptions usually so I'm sure missing one won't break the bank lol.

Its one of the cheap fertility drugs TTC40. It depends on the dosage you need obviously, but between £30 and £60 for a 3 month supply is about right.
