Thanks for that blog mention chickpea :)

So... my FS secretary rang again this morning. FS wants to see me asap! They're squeezing me in tomorrow at the end of clinic (not even a cancellation) rather than waiting til next month when I already have an appointment (which they'll cancel). I'm wondering (about a lot of possible scenarios tbh, my brain's now in overdrive!) whether she's going to suggest the laparoscopy, but needs to see me to know I'm now eligible for it, and discuss the procedure?? If it was to give me a prescription to stop AF so I could have the HSG, I'm not sure why she wouldn't keep my appointment in august and just send a letter to my gp/mail it out...?

And of course, now I want to know what's going on, so want to go asap, and I'm not sure dh will be able to get out of work at such short notice

I've never even read this thread before as TTc isn't my problem but it is my younger sister. She's TTC now and has been for about a year. She's already got a little one and she had a miscarriage a couple of months ago but she tried for 4 years before she fell pregnant with her first. There are no medical problems for not falling quickly. My worry is that my sister treats TTC like a military operation. She's obsessed with ovulation sticks and temperature and will only have sex when the time is right - never at any other time as she says it's pointless. I think she should be having sex as often as possible to stand the best chance of falling pregnant. I mean, I know there is a small window to fall pregnant in but once a month sex? Could that be why it's taking so long?

    What do you think?

I doubt that her military approach to sex is affecting her chances of falling pregnant. But it might be affecting her relationship :(

'Pointless'? Sure, in terms of procreating. But sex isn't just about that and in seeing it only in terms of making a baby puts inordinate pressure on herself and her other half.

But... we've all been there unfortunately. When you struggle to conceive, sex often loses its fun and becomes a means to an end. Try not to judge your sister; she's doing what we all hope not to do, but end up doing anyway. If her OH is happy with the current approach to sex then let her get on with it. She's on a mission and no amount of telling her to relax and just have sex 'whenever' will make any difference. We all have to find our own way when trying to conceive. Tell her to get on here and we can support her :)

  • That's very helpful thank you. They've already had three pregnancies with three different outcomes so it's just a matter of time I guess. Good luck to all the TTC couples out there x

It takes about 2 weeks to stop AF, so they may have wanted you to get on with it now?
Good luck though, and hope your DH can make it:o

Maybe, but I still would've thought she'd've just sent it a script without seeing me...? Who knows though, I guess I'll find out tomorrow...with DH :D he's managed to arrange to leave work early :T

I'm bored with this AF business now. I think I've only had 2 weeks in the last 3 months without...

How did your Dh react about the eggs, QQ?
