TTC40, if there is nothing wrong with you or DH then I wouldn't do IVF. Just make sure you catch ov every month, and the golden eggy will come along soon:cool:
The reason why we are doing IVF is because the doctor said DH's sperm will never reach my eggs:o0 -
I agree with QQ don't do IVF unless its necessary. People are to quick to think IVF is a good option but its not always, the cost and emotional stress is terrible and if you have a chance at doing it naturallykeep at it.
AFM - Embie has thawed properly and is looking good, its only a 2 day but fingers crossed. There is a chance it might survive overnight but if it does transfer is tomorrow morning at 10am. I have booked the morning off work but coming straight back after so will have to take it easy. Fingers crossed for 5th time lucky.BEST WIN LAST YEAR - MULBERRY HANDBAGSENDING STICKY VIBES TO THOSE WHO NEED THEM

Good luck juju! Fingers crossed

Ttc40 if I remember rightly, the only known issue was your blocked tubes, right? So my gut feeling would be to give it maybe 12 months to try naturally, as if you've restarted ttc, iyswim? Especially if you both have reservations about IVF. But I'm sure your doctor will also have input to give you and at the end of the day you'll need to do what feels right for you and dh. Good luck with the appointment
AFM, my FS secretary is going to speak to the FS about my situation, so we'll see what she suggests. She said if she does need to put my appt back though, it could be a couple of weeks, rather than months again, which I guess is good. It was also mentioned that the fs might prescribe something to stop me bleeding so I could have the procedure, so we'll see... She agreed that for now I should keep my appointment as it is she discuss the possible endometriosis and laparoscopy with FS."I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
I have been reading this thread for a long time and I hopeyou don't mind me posting my story.
We are expecting an IVF miracle in February 2013.
We have conceived after our 4th IVF attempt. Last year we told after our 3rd attempt thatmy egg count was too low, eggs were too bad, too many of them were immature and that the only way I could fall pregnant would be through an egg donor. We were both absolutely devastated.
We are not ones for giving up without a fight. I did an incredible amount of research andput myself on DHEA, royal jelly, melatonin to name a few and I also found a consultant with absolutely wonderful reviews and a brilliant success rate whowas being made a medical director of a new IVF clinic in London.
We went to see him in October last year and he said to me your previous clinic had you on the wrong protocols and the wrong drugs. He also said that to make sure that my eggswere mature to up my egg collection time from 38 hours to 39 hours. He said thereis a high risk that we may lose them, but can't risk them being immature again.
I had lots and lots of blood test and it came back as well that I have elevated natural killer cells which kills the embryos and an issue with my blood clotting which causes miscarriage.
I was also made to see a nutritionist who put me on an incredibly high protein diet I still feel like the incredible hulk now and my DH was put a high protein diet too, but not as high as me.
So in April this year we went into this cycle knowing that this would be our last attempt and we had done everyone possible. I started on my drugs, having intralipidinfusions to suppress my immune system and steroids.
We went in for our scan during stimulation and I had the most follicles I ever had I had 7 on right ovary. My left ovary had one follicle and it wasmassive as the sonographer said it was having a party of its own. I had to go in every other day for a baselinescan unlike my other clinic who scanned you once and then guessed when youwould be ready.
We went in for egg collection on 23 May and had 3 eggs collected. The next day I had a phonecall to say I had one egg fertilise, one was immature and the other failed tofertilise and to go in on the 25th May for ET. Up until ET I was absolutely petrified that it hadn't developed.
We went it to ET and the consultant said that it was a brilliant embryo andhe is always concerned when there are a low number of eggs about embryoquality.
I had three weeks off work and did sweet nothing. When I did the pregnancy test (four in total)we was absolutely shocked. I am now according to the fetal scan 9 weeks 2 days pregnant and I still can't believeit.
I am still on steroids, having my intralipid infusions Ihave to have these up to 20 weeks to stop my body rejecting our baby and I am on cleaxane for the whole of the pregnancy.
£40,000 lighter and baby on the way and we couldn't be moreecstatic, but what an emotionally hellish journey it has been for us and I would just like to say to you all that I know exactly how everyone feels. With a low egg count, immature eggs, poor respondor, abnormally developing embryos to name a few of the problems I had. My little bean really is a little miracle. My bean will be an only child as I know that we can't ever put ourselves through it again.
I want to wish you all the best of luck.0 -
Bigzippy, sounds like everything is going in the right direction, hope you'll get pg this year:j
Lobster, thank you for sharing your story with us.
You've been through a lot, but glad you were rewarded for it:)
Have a lovely pregnancy, and enjoy!:j0 -
Thanks Qquaver and I hope your eggs hang in there.0

Oh and ironically I went in for another early pregnancy scan yesterday and she checked my ovaries. My left ovary is back to my normal size and she said that I had lots of follicles in my right ovary more than I have ever had with stimulation!! Funny how your body works isn't it!0

Thanks Lobster for sharing what a lovely happy ending. I am quite similar as i don't get many eggs to fertilise either my egg count is just bit below average for my age. I have high NK cells too and currently take steroids but the intralipids did not work on my blood so it was no point doing that and we didn't like the sound or cost of IVIG. I have had 4 fresh ICSI cycles and some good embryos but they just don't implant and i am kinda losing faith in it all. Will see what happens with the FET tomorrow.
I would be interested to hear more about the high protein diet.BEST WIN LAST YEAR - MULBERRY HANDBAGSENDING STICKY VIBES TO THOSE WHO NEED THEM
