Runnderduck, I am sorry to hear of your recent neg test. Hope you get sorted soon.
I don't know how to multiple quote people to answer the questions. I am quite an abrupt blunt person, so don't mind other forthright people, but the Doc just didn't say anything at all! He was downright rude!
As my Hubby already has two kids, our PCT policy is we don't get anything other than the baseline tests, my bloods were fine, I don't have clamidiya (!). Deep down always knew it was sperm. I've been pregnant before (I have an abortion). And Hubby's count was low after the snip reversal.
IVF is so expensive. Just looking around for the nearest clinic that allows you a huge discount if you egg share. I don't fancy egg sharing really, but feel I have no other choice now.I'm never offended by debate & opinions. As a wise man called Voltaire once said, "I disagree with what you say, but will defend until death your right to say it."
Mortgage is my only debt - Original mortgage - January 2008 = £88,400, March 2014 = £47,000 Chipping away slowly! Now saving to move.0 -

We don't qualify for any nhs help either, this might help you find a clinic

a good one should be helpful if you ring them and would at least give you an idea how much it would all cost0 -
Thanks Runnerduck. Found a clinic in the Midlands that does IVF for £1500 with egg sharing or ICIS (can never get the initials right!) or £2000.
Full price is £6.5k! Though I had £10k in my head so it's not as bad as I'd prepared for!I'm never offended by debate & opinions. As a wise man called Voltaire once said, "I disagree with what you say, but will defend until death your right to say it."

Oh runner, so sorry x
bluemeanie-there are a couple of different procedures that can be done to remove sperm directly-having it done with a local anaesthetic is a lot less expensive than having it done under a general. We are saving for that and ICSI at the moment, I'm not eligible for egg sharing cos of my age though0 -

no £10k is way over, we have just paid £4800 including all meds for icsi at CRGW in south wales (the meds were £1200 ) you may not need as many meds as i did either. i think at our clinic you only pay for your meds if you are egg sharing.0 -
Thanks everyone. Mrshappy what is that procedure called exactly? From what I've read to have Hubby's sperm removed, they would have to do IVF or ICSI on me?
Have considered using a donor but would always be at back of my mind. Especially as hubby already has two biological children.
Does anyone have any feedback or experience on this?I'm never offended by debate & opinions. As a wise man called Voltaire once said, "I disagree with what you say, but will defend until death your right to say it."

Sorry Mrshappy just read your post again and think I misinterpreted it. So looks like you are saving for the same thing as we will be. Unless we go for sperm donor. I'm only assuming I can egg share too. Might have to prepare for the worst.I'm never offended by debate & opinions. God so much sad news here today.
I am so sorry Runner, my heart goes out to you, i don't understand why its not working for you, I can't get mine to stick and you can't get yours to stay. Big hugs. xx
Silly - keep up with the hot water bottle, good luck
Blue - my OH had sperm removed from the testies its called sperm aspiration and costs about £1500. We had it done on NHS but we might need a fresh batch. My eggs are not good enough to share and I don't like the idea but good luck.
I had my baseline scan today all looking fine got another one on Friday. I am not getting my hopes up about this at all as we only have one frostie we haven't got much of a chance. Started steroids today so I will be pigging out shortly.BEST WIN LAST YEAR - MULBERRY HANDBAGSENDING STICKY VIBES TO THOSE WHO NEED THEM0 -
Gutted for you Runner, can't believe you came so close, again. So sorry.
Sorry for your bad news too Blue Meanie. We had a doctor a bit like that. He lost my DH's first test results and when we asked if he could go and check if reception had them (they did) he stormed out the room and we could hear him say 'For F's sake' under his breath. Could give Dr Kildare a few pointers on bedside manner!

My fifth go at Ov induction didn't work this month, CD3 now - I hemmed and hawed over whether to bother with #6, but I think we will. In for a penny, in for (5 thousand) pounds.
I saw a photo of me the other day on Facebook - I look about 100 years old. If my eggs are as wrinkly as my face, I'm in real trouble..!

Good luck Juju!0 -
Thanks jugaboo. I don't like the sound of egg sharing. I suppose it just depends on how much we save up. Think can have 3 goes if I egg share, but only 1 if we don't. But then it seems a bit unethical of me not like the idea but effectively sell them for money?I'm never offended by debate & opinions.
