Welcome 2b-I know it's a scary move coming over here, but these lovely ladies will look after you.

I was hoping some of the more experienced Clomid users will be able to help.

I've just finished my first cycle of Clomid and was very suprised to find myself spotting on Friday, CD23 (first positive OPK was CD11 but FF had me ovulating on CD13), but it was very much the horrible brown sludgy stuff (sorry of TMI!), very little and only just made it to the pantiliner. This carried on through CD24, but I put a tampon in Saturday night as a precaution. When I changed on Sunday morning, it was still a bit pathetic (three quarters full IYKWIM but still mostly brown but with some red). During the day I only need to change because it had been so long, and then they were only halfway used, but still mostly brown and some red. Today I've gone back to a liner I'm so light.

I assume Clomid has thinned my lining which is why it is so light (so I don't really hold out much hope that it'll do any good), so do you think I should count yesterday as CD1 when I first saw a little bit of red and then take my tablet today?

Very sorry for TMI but I'm so annoyed with this-just early and light enough to give you hope for implantation but then the red comes. Boo hiss.

On the upside, I've discovered I don't comfort eat but good grief I can comfort shop!

Hi all has anyone had IUI?

I have. I posted about it recently on a thread asking if anyone had tried it (it's on this board and it's called IUI but only two of us have responded). Link below.

Hi CCM, sorry I nearly missed this. Firstly I think its very bad that they didn't tell you this sooner! Its been 6 months and they haven't told you - very shocking. You could make a complaint. Secondly, the only thing that I have to add is to be very careful about going for IVF privately - make sure that you have confirmation that this wouldn't affect your chances of then seeking IVF through NHS funding. The reason I say this is because DH and I nearly went private last year but we were told by FS that if we did we would absolutely not be entitled to NHS funding. Our PCT currently funds 3 fresh and 3 frozen rounds of IVF so thats why we are waiting.

Sorry to not have any real answers for you but hope you are doing ok xx

StaffieCat - that has been my main concern. It looks like the rules have changed since I first went to see the FS - but the clinic I go to does not do the IVF - it is another hospital I would have to go to and maybe thats why they aren't forthcoming with IVF information. (When we do the IUI OH has to give his sample at this other hospital - wait for it to be washed and then drive it to our hospital)

After a lot of thought - our plan of action is
    1) Go to an open evening in May on egg sharing to find out all details
    2) Commence our third cycle of IUI also in May
    3) When we are having the IUI I will be speaking to the consultant that does the scans and find out what the regulations are on private treatment - and hopefully get more information than the FS could give. Also I want to find out how many IVF tries you are given in our PCT and the waiting times. If it is only 1 then I think we will bypass the NHS. I know the lady that scans speaks to the lead consultant each day about each scan and I want to raise concerns over the treatment I am being offered.
