have never posted but try to make sense of it all and now i would like some advice, if possible.
(Bloke by the way)
Wife and i have been trying for 2 1/2 years with no joy and went for IVF. Had egg transfer completed and 2 week wait was today and test proved postive. I know its wrong but don't want to get too excited just yet.
Reading all these sites about the risks, especially first twelve weeks and am reading about HCG tests. My question is should we be going for blood tests to ensure everything is progressing as it should be as the info states we won't be called to hospital for another 3 weeks.
Know its silly but any help is much appreciated.
Congratulations!
I had two HCG tests as that's what my clinic does. TBH, it doesn't really reassure you. Of course it's great to hear that the numbers have doubled nicely, but is it really worth the wait? Luckily I only had to wait maybe 6 hours or so each time, but I've read about women on this thread not getting the results for a couple of days. The anxiety of waiting could well be worse than not knowing at all.
Nothing will stop you worrying about this pregnancy. I don't say that to be defeatist, rather to try to put things in perspective for you. You'll have a 7 week scan which is great, but until then there's no reason for you not to just try to treat this pregnancy completely normally. The fact that your wife has now conceived means that your chances are pretty much the same as for a normal pregnancy, and women aren't advised to be off having HCG tests all the time in normal pregnancies.
Try to enjoy it. I say that, but it's the most pointless advice in the world; the next few weeks will be a blur of anxiety (and joy. Lots of joy)

Hi 2b
My MIL passed away this morning.
But thankfully, she was sleeping painlessly and peacefully, and her suffering is over. We'll meet again, when she's whole, healthy & happy :A "I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0
