Hello! I have been lurking a while and thought I might introduce myself. I think I belOng here as well as on ttc thread as its turning into a very long journey.

My name is Marie. I'm 28 and married since 2008. Started ntnp immediately after wedding, before beginning 'serious' ttc, opk, temping etc in may 2010.

Couldn't believe it in aug 2011 after 16 months, when I got my bfp!

Sadly that ended in miscarriage at 7 weeks.

2 months after mc, I was rushed to hospital in diabetic ketoacidosis and diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Another spanner in the ttc works. Was told to wait three months before trying again to see that blood glucose was under control.

I have worked hard to get levels down to healthy numbers and now the journey begins again.

I have no diagnosed fertility problems, but it just didn't happen for us. Added to that, I know any pregnancy I am ever lucky enough to have will be high risk.

I feel cd 1 is definitely imminent and just want to get on and try again!

Hope you don't mind me joining you!

    Marie
  • Hi Marie

Sorry to hear of your journey so far, I hope your stay on this thread is nice and short.

We're a raggled taggled mixed bunch on this thread, everyone is so friendly and understands what its like when it's not straight forward, I feel safe to say what I'm really feeling here.

May be I'm feeling the love tonight but I just want to send big dodgy hugs to everyone :grouphug: You all make a difference by posting and the suport you give really does help, particularly on dark days.

    Winky xxx

Hi Winky, I think you should wait until your next period arrives and start to try after that. I always think of it like running the washing machine all the way through to give it a thorough clean - I guess it makes sure all your hormonal functions and physical processes are back to normal.

I've been reading'Is your body baby-friendly' and there are so many passages that ring true for me I've been getting adrenalin rushes. It really seems like this is my answer. Of course I'm wary of getting too excited until I see Dr Shehata next week, but of all the specialists and consultants I've been bounced between over the past four years none has given me such a feeling of confidence that the answer to my problems is within reach. There's even a big chapter in the book addressing its controversiality and addressing each point in turn made by critics (many of whom are my previous consultants!). So I'm in a good place at the moment.
  • Glad you are in a good place Sarah.

I'm going to man up and see the Dr, as it could be up to 6 months before I get a period, although that was true in the past I don't know my own body, so I could be talking BS and it could arrive next week.

I'm sunning myself at my parents place in Majorca at the moment, DH is at home as he can't get the time off work, so that stops the temptation to start trying too soon!

Im signed off until the 27th, so I'm making the most of it. I did tell work though that I was coming out here, just in case I got a tan!

Sorry Winky, I thought you meant that your last period was in November because you had been pg. Didn't realise you had a history of random periods. Makes it tough. Do you temp? Does that help when it comes to figuring out ovulation?

    Hi there everyone,

I've been a long time lurker watching this thread and occasionally post on the TTC thread too.

I think it might be about time to start thinking of joining you over here :o

We've been TTC for 3.5 years with no progress and are finally getting seen by FS next Monday (our doctors make you wait 3 years before referring you). I've had my HSG which looks ok, and DH has had two SA which show asthenospermia.

He got his latest result last night and I was wondering whether anyone knew a bit more about them and just how dodgy they look...

Who 1 is 28%, who 2 is 19.6%, who 3 is 1.4% and who 4 is 51%. Total conc. is 45M/ml, motile conc. is 22M/ml and active conc. is 13M/ml.

    What do you think?

Thanks in advance (and sorry for not waiting to see what the FS says!).
  • Sorry Derby I'm not sure about SA as its me whose the faulty one! Someone more knowledgeable will be along soon.

Sarah, sorry theres so many of us on here that I forget that its hard to keep up! Yes I only have a period a few times a year, I've previously been diagnosed with Annovulation, and had IVF a couple of times...fab dd to show for it.

The temping might be worth a go though now as it was a miracle natural pregnancy that I just lost, so my cycles may have been kick started (not really holding my breath though)

I gave up on the ovulation sticks previously as a lost cause after 60 days and no surge! Spent a fortune too! At least temping is free!- This is MSE afterall!

Thanks Sarah, I really need to go back to basics don't I? I'm going to end up feeling like a newbie again!

Ooooh, was just abuot to say that we should have little biogs on the front page, and then I looked and we do! So I'm going to PM Lilo now (I'm pretty sure she's around even though she doesn't post much.) It would be really helpful to see where everyone's at as we have such complicated histories... might also help us find 'buddies'....
