They are expensive:shocked:QQ I get the micronised 25mg 180 tablets from dhea.com (& take 3 per day)
They aren't cheap, but I do feel like I'm giving my egg quality a boost, as well as giving me more energy.
But I think I'll give it a go, it's cheaper than IVF anyway:p
Oh dear, it's expensive:oIt's just a simple blood test but costs £550 but well worth when I found my count was extremely high, 600 when it should be about 200.
I wonder why your acupuncturist thought your count was high?
I've 'only' had one mc, but obviously I prefer not to have anymore:o
Good luck:oHad a transfer of 2 really good quality embies, graded 1-2, one had already gone to 8 cells and the other was 6-7. Now the worst 2 weeks of my life, I hate this part.0 -
Jugjug, wow, didn;t realise it was so much. The miscarriage clinic doesn't really give any prices for NKC testing, just the price for a consultation. How are the steroids? Have you had any horrid side effects?

I don't know why she thought it was high but obviously she was bang on, just hope there are no more issues, some of the other blood clotting results came back normal.BEST WIN LAST YEAR - MULBERRY HANDBAGSENDING STICKY VIBES TO THOSE WHO NEED THEM

I have had no side effects on the steroids so far but if I get pregnant then I will be on them for 12 weeks and I think more side effects will appear then. When they do the test for the NKC they test it with steroids, IVIg and intralipids. Steroids is the cheapest way of reducing them but not always the most effective. IVIg is like a blood transfusion and can cost up to £1000 a time and you need about 4 or 5 leading up to collection then more after, I just couldnt afford that and we were not keen on the idea either. Intralipids is like a fat based transfusion cheaper (£300-£400) but this didn't work very well on my NKC anyway. There was only 2% difference between the IVIg and the steroids, so we chose the steroids it still brought my result just below the 20% mark it needed to be.BEST WIN LAST YEAR - MULBERRY HANDBAGSENDING STICKY VIBES TO THOSE WHO NEED THEM

I also take steroids during treatment for High NKC, And I did get a BFP while taking them (albeit sadly ectopic) I had a few side effects with them, but nothing major, the benefits far outweigh the problems. I take Prednisolone.
Good luck Juju, each cycle is different, hoping this is your one x2 angels in heaven :A0 -
Just wanted to say also, thank you ladies for all your posts and pm's with regards to my ramblings. I have to say i'm still totally lost what to do, not one option seems any good at all , they all have huge things wrong with them (I know that seems obvious but i'm struggling)
I just need my lightbulb to be switched on but I think the fuse has blown for now as I am in the dark.
But thank you all, I appreciate the time you have all taken to talk to me and offer your experiences and opinions.
Hugs ladies.2 angels in heaven :A0 -
Hugs Sarah - getting the test done sounds a good idea.0

Good morning everyone!
Lisa - I'm not surprised your head is all over the place. After everything that's happened, your brain is probably in turmoil.
I wouldn't be in the least surprised if you were either depressed or suffering from something akin to post-traumatic stress disorder.
What the fertile world probably doesn't realise is how much infertility involves grief. Both every month when each cycle ends and, in a more global sense, when you think you might not have the family you had imagined. Every month (or treatment cycle) brings fresh hope - and fresh opportunity for disappointment!
I have read that the stress level of infertility is the same as bereavement, which would probably sound over-dramatic to someone that hadn't experienced it, but not to me.
Every grief cycle goes through four stages usually - denial, anger, mourning and acceptance, although it's not always quite as tidy as that.
I think I've reached acceptance - which is not to say I'm not pretty depressed a lot of the time. And I haven't given up either.
(Just spent another £16 on Amazon ordering Vit D and more OPKs..!)
Maybe your unconscious is busy making decisions backstage, and will let you know about it when it's ready.0 -
I think you're right chickpea. Obviously the intensity affects different people in different ways, but I lost my mum in 2010 and I recognise the stages I went through with grieving for her in my reactions to the possibility of never having another child. Not as intense, but certainly a cycle of those four emotions. I thought I was getting close to acceptance but this miscarriage has made me realise I'm not. Funnily enough my DH said the same thing a couple of nights ago, so at least we're on the same page.0

Hi Lisa, I forgot to say but FWIW, I was in the 'give it another try' camp. Only you will know whether you can put yourself through it again though...(((hugs)))
 Hi Tinksy - welcome to the board but sorry you had to join us at all. Good luck.0
