Evening all, had my EC this morning. We've got 5 embabies! :j
They said they will ring me in the morning to let me know how many are viable cos they didnt think the smaller 2 would be good. No idea how I am going to sleep tonight (wish I could have another of the temazepam, that worked a treat!)
Was a difficult job getting the 2 from my hiding ovary. They really struggled and was quite painful. Offered me gas & air at one point but didnt fancy that much! Said my bowel was attached and asked if I had endometriosis. Never been told I have but maybe something to look into.
Managed to get them eventually but Im now walking hunched and very sore:cool:. Its going to be worth it though, Im being extremely positive about it all.... for now!
I dont want to jinx it all but they also mentioned them going to blastocyst. Now to be honest, I dont really know a great deal about it. She said if they went to blasto, there would have to be 4 fertilised eggs by Friday, they would be transferred monday and they would only be able to put 1 back.
What are peoples thoughts on going to blastocyst please? Looks like I will have to consult Dr Google too cos Im clueless
Glad to have a 2ww buddy Runnerduck, hope you are ok xx:j:T Gorgeous twin girls born 1st Nov 2012 :T:j0 -
C4B I know nothing about blasto vs non-blasto.. be careful about Dr Google tho!
far too easy to get scared on there! I've got everything crossed for a really brilliant outcome for you.
No news here, just waiting for O, and hopefully DH will be here for when it happens! When people show you who they are, believe them the first time0 -
glad everything went well C4B, i dont know too much about blasto's ours are 4 day embryos that we are having put back, i think they only grow them on to blasto if they are really good quality though, so it's sounding good for you, good luck0

Please bear in mind that it was over 2 years ago that I had a blastocyst transfer, but I'll do my best........
Basically(as I understand it) Blastocyst is a way of natural selection as only the embryos most likely to implant make it to blastocyst stage and the success rate is therefore higher.
There is a risk that the embryos will not develop into blastocysts - but I'm sure the embryologists wouldn't consider you as a suitable candidate unless they thought the odds were good.
I had a five day transfer and was told that my embryio was a "slow growing morula" (not quite there) anyway to cut a long story short my "slow grower" is now 22 months old:)0 -
I have never had blasto stage C4B both clinics I have used only did 2 or 3 day transfers soI have never had the opportunity but this time round i think my clinic is more flexible so who knows i might make it to blasto if I have some good one that fertilise.BEST WIN LAST YEAR - MULBERRY HANDBAGSENDING STICKY VIBES TO THOSE WHO NEED THEM0

Dont know too much hun but we had like 6 embryos and our clinic took to blasto. Only one made it. But that one is our 7 month old daughter. Im not sure how i feel though as with only one making it there i wonder if it had failed how i would of felt. Blasto gives you the best chance but its not to say an earlier transfer wont be as good.
Maybe its worth keeping daily check on them and see how it goes. Our clinic left it over the weekend and could of been a dreadful mistake.
I wish you luck!!!

Hope everyone is ok on this dreary, grey afternoon. One of those days where you just want to be inside tucked up with a hot chocolate!
3 of the 5 eggs have fertilised, so wont be going to blasto stage. Going in tomorrow afternoon for the transfer. Said depending on the quality, they may only put 1 back, possibly 2. Would really like 2 put back if possible cos this is our one and only chance of doing ICSI. I know they say it doesnt increase your chances of becoming pregnant but how can it not?!?!Is there any hope of them listening to me and putting 2 back if thats what I want?
Im flitting between worry and excitement every other minute, so gawd knows how Im going to be for the next 2 week
Im just praying with everything I have got that this works, and to top it all off my OTD is 25th Dec :eek::eek::eek::eek::j:T Gorgeous twin girls born 1st Nov 2012 :T:j0 -

Is putting one in now and doing a frozen transfer later a possibility? It could be a sibling if this one works?0 -
Hi C4B i'm in tomorrow afternoon too, i don't know about NHS but we are private, and i wanted 2 put back the first time and they said they could'nt stop me but it was against all their advice and in the end they i gave in, the last time i had one which was friozen on his own for my FET, but this time our last 2 have been frozen together and i have said i want the 2 put back so we will see tomorrow, i am afraid that the last one would not be refrozen ok and i don't want risk it. will be thinking of you whilst i'm lay there tomorrow0
