TinyPablo, I think brazil nuts are for your OH/DH. As for drinking fluid, I had OHSS, so sports drinks really helped hydrate. Not sure about milk.

I've also read watching comedies will boost your chances:D

Good luck, hope this is it for you!:j

Hi everyone. I dont post very often but read every day. I go for my baseline scan tomorrow morning and start my stims (I'm on short protocol), I'm very nervous! Does anyone have any tips? I have read somewhere about drinking more water and milk and eating brazil nuts but can't find this info now, does anyone about this? Thanks.

Good luck with your cycle. Don't be nervous and keep calm, its fine nothing to worry about. They say to drink at least 2 ltrs of water a day but that is tough going. I agree with QQ about the Brazil nuts. Try acupunture if you can as i find it really helps me stay relaxed and its suppose to help the follicies grow.

  • Hi Everyone,

Been ages since i came on here but needed to let loose with similar minded ladies!!

just got back from my HSG. Was a little uncomfortable to say the least!!

Told me i have a tilted uterus which is not a bad thing but doesnt help. Dye run into the right tube fine but not so much into the left. Tried more dye which hurt a bit, well bad cramping. They dont think that the left tube is blocked but the dye didnt flow like the other side. Said it could either be slightly blocked or the right is more favoured because of the tilt in my uterus. Thankfully the cramping stopped once they stopped but was feeling quite emotional and then came tears!!! Well that made me feel really daft.

In other news, had a new nephew arrive on the weekend and my friend is currently in labour. Think thats the reason why i got emotional. As much as im happy for them, im so desperate for my own.

Hope everyone is well. Sorry for being awol for so long and then venting to you all. Waiting for hubby to get home from work now for a cwtch (hug).

huge goodluck Tinypablo! Hope all goes well for you xxx
  • Hi everyone

Scan went ok. They said there was about 8 small follicles on the right, no so many on the left. I don't have PCOS, my AMH is 45 and have been on Metformin for a couple of weeks but she seemed very suprised that there was so many follicles. I'm just so worried that I'll have OHSS and treatment will have to be abandoned.

Thanks to QQ & JuJu for the kind words and advice. Gettingthereslowly, hope you're feeling a little better, maybe you will be one of those ladies whos fertility increases after HSG, fingers crossed, x

Unless you have serious OHSS, I think they can get the eggs out and freeze it for next cycle.

I had mild (didn't feel mild) OHSS, but I have PCOS and am older, and had 19 eggs collected. Fingers crossed you won't get OHSS:)

TP, good luck with your cycle. I have an opposite problem - I am worried that there will be not enough eggs! My AMH is 1.49. Last cycle (last year) there was only 1 egg collected from a number of follicles, which did fertilise, but did not implant.

I had the baseline scan today - long protocol. The cyst is there again, but they are not going to drain it this time. The good news was that the nurse could see some antral follicles on the right side, so I hope this means good news. I am starting stimulation tomorrow with 6 amps of Menopur.

So, I am back for another scan on Tuesday next week and then another one of Friday. Fingers crossed all is going to be very well and I can have the egg collection the following Monday (my preferred date - the nurse said if all is fine it will be either Monday or Tuesday). We have taken a week of holidays for the last week of September, so following embryo transfer we are going to book last minute holiday. Somewhere warm and sunny and near the sea... (I am not sure flying is advised for the 2ww, but I think I need to go away from it all and have a break, put my feet up and enjoy the sun and the sound of sea).

Ok, need to stock up on the nuts, and sweet potatoes (hear those a good for you), and I have an acupuncture tomorrow.

Good luck Gin with your cycle. I hope you get a few more eggs this time and some more that fertilse too. I can understand you wanting to get away in the 2WW as it is always the worse part and though I am sure flying has no real impact I personally wouldn't risk it.
