Good luck with the ICSI JG.

My friend had it due to MF probs and it worked for her first time - is yours NHS or private? (Sorry if you already said). Not that it will make any difference to the treatment you get. If anything though,I have preferred the NHS treatment I have had.

Mind you, the injections I have been getting are private, but it's from the same NHS team that I had been seeing, so it sort of feels continuous. Plus, I haven't seen a single bill yet, which contrasts nicely to the impression I had of Midlands Fertility Services, which were not shy in demanding cash

We are going private Chickpea, only enough savings for one course but we wanted to give it a go as the waiting time in our area is over 2 years. I am going to a clinic called Glasgow Centre for Reproductive Medicine (GCRM) and so far they have been great, I always feel reassured after a visit.

So my Prostap injection is booked for the 22nd of this month. I am part excited at getting started, but a part of me wants to delay it. I guess at the moment, before we start all this then there is a feeling of hope, that we can do something to fix our problems. But if it doesn't work then am I prepared for another blow? Or is there ever a right time.

I am still working through the thread but best of luck to all those having treatment right now, and hugs to those who are struggling with set backs. And Jiblets, I am reading( and enjoying!) your blog!

Good luck to everyone needing it at the moment. We are definitely overdue some real BFP's :). I was sat the other day with a cuppa and a cream cake (yep, diet isnt going so well!) and was thinking about how dissappointed my family are going to be if the treatment doesnt work. We are such a close family, every single one of them knows each and every test and appointment we go to and Im now thinking that might not be such a good thing:cool:. Its so difficult cos I know they will all be as devastated as we will be if this fails. The same goes for my friends, Im a very shy and quiet person and dont have many close friends, but those I do have know everything.

Somebody said the other day (sorry, I cant remember who) that they were going to tell them not to ask, they would let them know the outcome in their own time. I was thinking of doing this but my best and closest friend is my Auntie and I know she would find it hard to 'lie' to my family if they asked her how it went:o

Im now reading this back and realising how much Im expecting this to fail. I suppose I darent get my hopes up for them to get squashed yet again.

And now I've depressed myself I'll go find another cake to stuff my face with:rotfl:

Lisa, frosties sound great and I am sure it is going to work for you this time, I have everything crossed.

C4B - its hard on who to tell but you must do what you most feel comfortable with. I just ask people not to contact me on my test day and let me tell them in my own time, I just then send a quick text around to tell them the news - its better than face to face which just makes me blub.

Good luck to everybody else, together we can get there, hopefully. xxx

Had a letter from my consultant yesterday saying he has spoken to the specialist in London and he suggests that I have IVIg (Blood transfusions) with my next ICSI cycle to kill my own natural killer cells. This is so expensive so I need to see if the steriods on their own will be enough to kill them. I would do it in a heartbeat if i knew it was going to work but you just don't know. There was only 7% in it between the IVIg and the steriods on killing my NK cells which isn't a great deal really. I need to make an appointment to discuss further. I am transferring my frozen embie and sperm a week on Monday and trying to arrange a wedding in 8 weeks its all too much.

Juju, I am on a high dose, extended course of steroids each cycle for exactly that.

They make me feel like total crap tbh but they are cheap and we did not long ago have our BFP, albeit in the wrong place.

When we visited ARGC for our disastorous appointment in June they said we would do Intralipids (similar to IVIG I think) but we have stuck with our current clinic for now.

We currently have 2 out of 3 frosties growing, transfer (as long as they are still with us) tomorrow at 2pm.

Juju go easy on yourself, you need to relax if and when possible.

    Hi Lisa

What was the results of your NK cells test?. I am still trying to work mine out but need to speak to consultant to make sense of them. If yours is similar to mine then I would definitely go for the high dose of steriods, the IVF drugs don't really effect me so hopefully the steriods would do the same.

On my test the IVIg worked the best then the steriods then the Intralipids (which is fat based transfusion but a lot cheaper) so I think that option is out for me.

Hope your frosties are continuing to grow and be healthier. I am sure this time its going to work for you. Good luck with transfer tomorrow.

I have never used FMU for OV testing, I thought 2nd or third of the day was meant to be best?

Hi Lisa, normally opk's only test LH levels which is better tested for later in the day (I think LH levels peak about lunchtime ish) but the clearblue fertility monitor tests for 2 hormones so you have to use fmu - I think it tests for FSH and LH but could be wrong. I'm leaving it next to my alarm clock now so I cant forget!

Best of luck with your frosties, sounds like they are doing well.

Thanks Murray for the link. It sounds similar to me regarding the high levels of NK cells. I would like to know if she had an IVIg with her IVF. I hope my body isn't killing my OH DNA too that would just be another thing to add to the list.
