Other than that it is the brave face in public, and the grief in private I am afraid. Keep coming on here and sounding off - we understand hun.

Hi Lilo - I think this cuts to the heart of the matter, and it's what we have to do, hard as it is sometimes.

Fake it till you make it..!

It feels like everyone around me can get pg at a whim. Probably not true for some, but it just looks like that:o
    Really, I thought it'll be painful:o
If this works, then you know we'll all be having colonics:D

PS. I've started buying some organic stuff recently too...

I just thought I'd clear that up, before the internet police get involved and I get arrested for something I haven't done... No buses, trains or even a passing car. No sir.

    ++++++++

Oh don't all start to get colonics - it's such a dirty habit..!

So far so good, except for the odd grumbling down there. I sound like a creaky door.

Despite not being pregnant, I have now had five different people - that I'm not married to - poking around in my nether regions since last September:

The fertility specialist for the dildo cam
The nurse at GP's office for smear test
The doctor at Midlands Fertility for the HyCoSy
The nurse at the STD clinic
    The colonic..practitioner

If you add in the actual person I'm married to, that's a lot of poking around.

Dignity and modesty are things of the past.

Chickpea...eating chickpea? That sounds like it should be a sort of cannibalism! :rotfl:

I must have been eating something similar when I picked my user name! Still, at least I'm not known on here as 'Bottleofstrongciderandkebab'..!

Chickpea, thanks for making me laugh!

Well girls, I have to tell you that despite being a creaking gate in the fertility world, we have decided to delay IVF. Not an easy decision, as I am sure you will agree. It worries me that I havent had a period in 3 months. I feel that something is out of sync, and that IVF wont help at the moment. We are going to book an appointment with Zita West, and do the pre-IVF and all the nutritional and testing and stuff. I am following Chickpea down the wholly natural route, and ditching all my little chemical fixes! Dont know about the colonic though!!! I just dont feel that my body will do a pregnancy at the moment. And we only have 1 chance at IVF, and its (more than) we can afford, so I dont want to waste it. Its in the back of our minds that it didnt work with a grade A embryo, so will it work anyway? Plus my DH is really worried about me taking all those drugs, both from the cancer and my temperament point of view!

So, we are cancelling our drug discussion on Wednesday, and booking a consultation with the consultant to discuss checking out the tubes, why we need ICSI, and exactly what the costs are, and whether they can do anything about my cycle. maybe, looking at Clomid and IUI as well. You have to bear in mind that our chances of success at my age are low (>10%) so normal conception is just as likely!

I feel comfortable with this decision, although obviously sad that we wont be going ahead. If I had a nice normal 28 day cycle again, I wouldnt be doing it but I just dont think all is right in the hormone world here.

My Son was an uncle at 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Any more children will be younger than the grandchildren - odd yeah!!

My little boy is at cubs camp this weekend, I am missing him lots his first time away like this.

Anyway, sorry to hijack with my ramblings, havent given up the wine yet and the football is on the tele .......................

Feel free to chat, any other football widows!!! Lilo

chickpea you are getting a lot of attention down there :rotfl: at least you know it's in tip top condition x

Lilo sounds like a good idea to get everything right before starting, did you know Zita West is starting an IVF clinic in September x

Another football widow here but I'm quite enjoying it won't be telling the OH that though!!

I read about that on the site, nichart. I dont know if it will help though as I have gone to St Barts because one of the consultants is a specialist in post-trachelectomy and my previous clinic wouldnt touch it. I would probably switch though if they thought they could do it.

TBH I know its a big step, but it feels right.

I hope you have your feet up taking it easy!!! LIlo

The top man from Nottingham Care is going to be the main consultant, if they could do that for you and you had a trial you could pick which you felt you had more confidence in, always good to have options x x

I want man u to win it's not gonna happen though :o I have been taking it very easy x x

Well I'm a football widow too ladies so you are not alone!

My DH went out about 2 hours ago - and left me alone with a computer and credit card..whoops.

So I have ordered a whole fruit and veg juicer! (I think I got a good deal on it..I saw one on QVC for about £80 that I quite fancied - then saw the same one on Ebay brand new for £37 - sold!)

So the world of juice awaits..

    ++++++++

Lilo - you know your body better than anyone, and IVF is a lot to put yourself through if you don't think the time is right or that it'll work. So I think you're doing the right thing for you, for the moment. Good luck on the detox (for want of a better word).

    I'm feeling bright-eyed and bushy-tailed already!
