Forgot to say - my father-in-law is getting on a bit in years and had a health scare recently (seems like he has the all clear now thankfully).

Anyway - I think it has sort of put him in touch with his own mortality. He has started thinking about what will happen to his money once he's gone..and the good news is, he's started distributing some of it our way!

He has decided to give us £1500, just like that.

That'll take the sting out of all my excessive healthy living/fertility spending recently!

Chickpea that's very kind of him glad he's got the all clear, it's a shame it has to cost so much but I suppose once you have a lot of it it's just a case of topping up, Does the juicer make fruit smoothies?

*delurks* hello ladies. Just wanted to delurk for a second. I can't join you yet as we're not trying yet, but the doctors have found a potential problem with my fertility and I'll probably be back in a year or two. I've been lurking on here as research because I believe we're going to have to have some help. Anyway, this is all irrelevant.

I just wanted to say how much I admire you all for staying so positive despite what life is throwing at you (I hope it's ok to say this and doesn't offend anyone) and that I really am hoping that you all get what you want soon and you're not here when I join.

    *goes back to lurking*

    Hi Nichart -

It supposedly juices whole fruit and veg, which is what I was hoping for. You can get ones that are probably better, but they cost £100s! I've got to draw the line somewhere..

I'll see if this one does the job to begin with anyway. I have found a shop that sells fresh (growing) wheatgrass, so I'm looking forward to things like pear, apple and wheatgrass juice. Oh and my father in law grows beetroot - beetroot juice here I come!

    And I loooooove beetroot!

Welcome Codemonkey - you are welcome to join us, it is for all people with fertility problems - you dont need to wait a year! We just seperated from the other thread as it was hard to read others who wanted to get pregnant, and then posted next month that they had done it! We are certainly good for research, I dont think there is anything that we havent experienced.

Thanks lilo. I'm really glad I started reading this thread. I didn't realise how much there was to procedures or how much it would effect psychologically.

They've found that my levels of prolactin are 3x higher than normal levels, but they wont treat me because I still have periods. I was annoyed with the endocrinologist because it was like "Can't help. You're still having periods. Come back when they stop or if you can't conceive".

Plus OH has a wee problem with the whole finishing in me thing, so all in all it's looking a bit hopeless.

But...I think I'll just keep an eye on you ladies from afar for now, as it doesn't feel fair to join when we've not started properly trying yet (waiting til after the wedding - like it matters. We've not been using anything like contraception for a year and nothing!)

Hi Chickpea, we have one that you just chuck the whole thing in & it does make things easier as long as you remember the 2 golden rules:

    1. Always clean it or rinse it as soon as you've used it or it could literally take days of scrubbing it; and

    2. Never be tempted to put an unpeeled orange or lemon in...'tart' doesnt even come close to describing the taste!

    Enjoy! :) x
