Meanwhile I have another question - about Clearblue ov prediction kits. Can anyone help? I normally use internet cheapies but ran out yesterday at a crucial point in my cycle, so took the plunge nad bought super expensive kit from boots - the clearblue digital.
I've never tried them, but have Clearblue Fertility monitor which is also a digital opk. For this, we are supposed to use FMU.

I use IC opks in the evening and CBFM first thing in the morning.
IC opks usually detect the LH surge earlier;)

Thanks everyone. That's the thing - my CM was full on egg white yesterday, no mistaking it. And since then I've done three Ov tests and nothing. Very confusing. I think I might take the belt and braces approach like you Qquaver and use ics in the evening. I've just bought 15 that need using by the end of Feb (knock down price) so it's peeing on a stick Valhalla for me! Lol. Glad you're feeling a bit better Runnerduck.

Sarahs999 - i never really used ovulation sticks (too much stress for me), but I'm sure I remember people saying it can be best to poas every 12 hours as every 24 could mean you miss it. I thought people also said that early evening wee was better? Not sure sorry, like i say, the sticks were never for me...

Hi Angel - I hope a second opinion can come up with some good options for you. I have read a book about a woman who overcame high FSH to get pg - can't remember the title, but I'll dig around on my bookshelves and let you know.

Runnerduck - yes, you need to be resting - and watching comedy, by all accounts!

    I'm CD28, BFN, going mad..!

Sorry I'm not sure how to quote yet.Nichart20 - Thank you so much for the link. OMG. I'm not sure what to do now.The consultant made it seem that Egg Donor was my only choice. Basically when the results came back, she just asked me whether I have someone that could be a donor. I told her that I have 4 sisters but I haven't discussed it with them yet, she gave me an appointment for March 8th and would like me to come with one of my sisters for a 'chat'. She has also referred me to Hammersmith Hospital because that is where my PCT would send me for any procedure and in the referral letter she mentioned that I would be coming with one of my sisters. What do i do. Do i have the right to demand IVF?

Angel - what do you and your partner want to do? I can't see no harm in trying with your own eggs first you won't know how your body reacts to the medications until you have tried them you could respond well, I can't believe they are ruling this out without giving you a chance but go with what you want to do. Do you have the option of another clinic if they are not willing to give you more options x x

Hubby and I both want to try with my own eggs first. It's just that i wasn't given the choice. It's not too late though. I'll do some research and discuss it in my next appointment. thanks for the food for thought

One thing to bear in mind is the HFEA criteria for egg donors. They like it to be women who have had their own children already (finished their families ideally as it can affect future fertility) and they must be between 18 and 35. If your sisters are close to that cut off point, particularly if you might want or need more than one attempt (not all cycles result in lots of collectible eggs), then you might not want to delay the decision too long. I think they are very strict on the age thing in particular as a friend of mine who wanted to donate eggs for one of her friends was turned down on this ground when she was only a few months outside the time frame.

The thing about having had their own children obviously doesn't apply to women who are themselves having IVF and sharing their eggs in return for cheaper fees.
  • Thanks Nicki, that narrows it down from 4 sisters to 1 sister!!!To be honest though, I haven't quite wrapped my head around egg donor. maybe its because i feel the doctor's have not explored all options with me yet.
