With most things in life, the harder you try, the more likely you are to succeed - but I don't think that's the case with getting pregnant. I think it's time I took my foot off the gas a little.

I'm going to do my best and let God (or nature) take care of the rest.

I don't know what CD I'm on because of the mystery bleeding, could be CD7, could be CD24. I'll only know the next time I get a period. Maybe this is my opportunity to stop obsessing..?

On the plus side, I had acupuncture tonight, and I'm feeling clean and serene!

I have a(nother) nephew anyway. Can't stop crying (me, not the nephew, apparently he's quite relaxed!!)

Hi Murray - what she said! I also had an internal 'dildo cam', which came as a shock.

Thanks ladies. I'm going to give them a call because there has been no mention of DH needing to be there so I was planning to go on my own. I have literally just had the appointment time and location and a equal opps form to fill in! I'm not liking the sound of dildo cam  but at least with some advanced warning, I'll be as ready as I can be!

Sorry that your PMA seems to be in short supply Chickpea :(. I think it would be a good idea to take some pressure off yourself. Perhaps with the new year and the serene feeling from the acupuncture, this would be a good time. Give yourself a few months of chilling and leaving it to mother nature and you could still be holding your own baby by next Christmas :o

    Hello!
I've used ovulation strips this month and my fertile time seems to be over this month (17th day of the cycle). However, strips didn't really show second line, for a three days second line appeared, but was hardly noticable. On a pack is written test is positive when second line is as visible as control one ,or more. I'm continuing reading strips, but there's no change. Is it normal? Or is something wrong?

With ov strips timing is critical so it could be that you missed the peak around the time that you had the 2nd line appearing. I think you have to do several strips a day to be sure you don't miss a peak i.e. in the afternoon and in evening/night. I never had a positive when I tried them using them once a day. I then started using a Clear Blue Fertility Monitor which did show a peak every cycle. I wouldn't be concerned about not getting a peak with ov strips, they are temperamental!

Thank you for your answer, Murray. It was written once per day is enough, so I didn't know. I had BD in these three days, somaybe there's still hope :)

I would rather have the dildo cam than a smear. I have got use to them now as I have had so many. Its nice to take your partner if you can always helps with a bit of support and an extra pair of ears. Good luck.

I have decided that since doing what I'm doing isn't working, I should...do something different..!

I think I'll make myself a bit scarcer on here for one thing - I'll pop by once a month to check in or so, but that's it. It'll be hard, because it's a bit compulsive, but I need to be more 'zen' about the whole thing.

I wish you all the best of luck - hopefully perserverence will win the day for all of you and for me!

Hello all and Happy New Year.

I am back. We've just had a letter thoguht with the date for our follow-up appointment (January 31st), so will see what the doctors think about our first cycle.

I am considering trying out acupuncture. It is costly, and I am trying to justify this in my head. If you had acupuncture, how often would you have treatments? Is it once a week, once a month? I have found out that there is someone locally that does this, and she is on Zita West website too. From what I see it is £35 a go, so if it needs to be done very often to have any effect, I just wouldn't be able to afford it.

I hope it would sort some things out. For example - my skin, which was blemish free during the IVF treatment when the drugs where there, but now my face looks like a map!

Oh, and I am back to weight loss - I have gained a bit over Christmas, and I want to get it down again before we try next cycle, whenever that may be.

Same here. I think I'll leave this thread too, but will pop back once in a while. Hoping to see many BFPs this year:beer:

I've never had acupuncture, but I'm considering it too:)
I wonder how often one needs to go?

As for weight loss, I've gained quite a bit too, haven't weighed myself yet though (don't need the extra stress:p).
