Evening all. Hope everyones had a lovely Christmas.

Well, I held off testing till yesterday morning. Crept into the bathroom at an ungodly hour, test in hand, to find AF waiting for me  You've got to laugh.

2 hours later, my dad is rushed into hospital and i'm 400 miles away :( He was released this evening - no idea what it was but he's fine. We didn't tell the in laws as didn't want to ruin their day as well but it was quite a fraught day with not knowing what was happening.

So we arrive home this evening to find the boiler frozen and the house at 5 degrees. Not a major issue - unfroze the condensing pipe, lit the open fire and settled down with a glass of wine to watch one born at Christmas. Suddenly there's a noise like the roof is coming in and a pipes burst in the attic! All hell lets loose as we didn't realise what it was at first.

We now have our bedroom, one of the spare bedrooms and the bathroom flooded. Water got into the electrics and the bedroom ceiling is bowed. Emergency plumber comes out (£200 for half an hour) and caps it saying it'll be OK now till morning when he can come back and fix it. Half an hour after he's gone and the same noise again. The hot water pipes gone this time. So now we've a flooded house, no water and it's a bit chilly.

I'm a bottle of wine in and past caring now tho TBH :rotfl:

    Merry Christmas everyone!

    SK x

OMG - Hope you can stay warm tonight and get it all fixed tomorrow. Sorry that af arrived and glad your dad is out of hospital.

Good job you had the wine tho to take the edge off :rotfl:

sexkitten - that has happened to me a few times when about to test. for some reason I always feel as though if I'd got free before AF did then perhaps it would have been positive (no logic there!). oh well at least you saved a test! sorry to here about your dad but glad they didn't keep him long. As for your plumbing issues - eek! glad u are seeing the funny side and have a lovely open fire to keep u cosy!

Good luck VK when were u due?

Hope everyone had a fab Christmas. I love all my presents which is amazing as I'm so hard to buy for :)

AF showed up on Christmas day, just one day late. I would have tested that morning if I'd have found a test but luckily I seem to have run out. Was pleased to see her as my frequent pain bad IBS problems etc are getting me down so I would have almost been disappointed to have been successful so close to getting checked out with my lap and dye in Jan. (i'm surprising myself by thinking that way but its true :-/)
Proud to be a moneysaver!

Me and DH have 2 children aged 4 and 3 weeks. We were ttc for 2.5 years, I have PCOS and wasnt ovulating & a blocked fallopian tube. DH had low mobility and we were told we would need IVF. 2 weeks before our app to discuss IVF I found out I was preg. Both times Ive conceived naturally so miracles can and do happen!
Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.

Evening ladies hope your all well? great to hear positive stories :) still no af for me grrr where's she gone.
  • Hi all,
Feeling a bit down this evening. On CD26 out of 31 and I don't think its worked again this month. When I was pregnant last year I knew it and now every month since I always know that I'm not. I do try to tease myself (subconsciously of course) with some symptom spotting and then around this time of the month reality sets in and I have to just play the af waiting game :(

What hurts the most is feeling that the mc from last year was possibly our only chance of having a baby.

Sorry to be down, ((hugs)) to anyone else that needs them.
Will try spring cleaning tomorrow to lift my mood ;)
    xx

hey everyone, trying to be positive, and doing not bad, have our appointment book with doctor for the tail end of feb, cant remember exact date.
just been watching that one born at chirstmas - sucker for programmes like this, there was one woman who tried for 13 years then had a little bubba nd another told that they could not have kids and they had a little baby girl. so there is hope for all of us.

oh well i have lost the weight that was needed for next appointment. so just to show the doc up im going to lose a bit more! hmm lets hope it goes to plan.
how are we all doing? got our chins up for 2011!?
