During our IVF, we were told not to 'keep' them for more than 4 days as then the quality starts to deteriorate.Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0

Hi ladies,
Can I join you all here? I've been frequenting the TTC thread for a little while and the people there are so lovely but it's hard because a lot of them have been trying for only a couple of months so obviously have very different issues and worries to me. I know some people frequent both (hi QQuaver ) so I figure I can too.
Bit of background, I am 28 and came off the pill about 3 years and 3 months ago because we were aware that fertility can take a while to return. We started TTC about 2 and a half years ago but this has been on and off at times (due to stuff like maternity leave enititlement, problems with DHs job etc which are no longer issues anymore).
DH is apparently fine (slightly low motility and slightly high % of abnormal sperm but high volume and sperm numbers and Dr says that the quantity should more than make up for lack of quality).
I am apparently fine as well - ovulating normally and I have really regular periods. I have had an ultrasound which appeared normal and am currently waiting for a laparoscopy to see if tubes are blocked etc (why they haven't done other easier tests to see this I don't know - but at least they are doing something which is good).
So at the moment we are none the wiser as to what the problem is and it's just waiting until we know what's wrong. But that's so frustrating!0 -
Hi and welcome Must_try_harder:wave:
Hope you'll get the lap appt soon:)0 -
Welcome to Lambanana and Must_try_harder
Must_try_harder - I'm a fairly recent graduate from the TTC thread but I wasn't a very regular poster, I couldn't keep up they're such a chatty lot! It felt like a bit of an emotional rollercoaster too with people coming and going so quickly...its much easier to keep my stress levels in check over here!Murray - near-c-buddy - when are you testing?
Hi Chickpea - I'm testing on Sunday too which I think should be cd29 (I'm still not counting!) - I'm hoping that its not too early but it shouldn't be and I would rather test at the weekend if I can. Fingers crossed that Sunday is kind to us and AF stay's away!0 -

OK - most annoying things pg people do to rub my nose into it (unintentionally, I'm sure..):
-Ostentatiously rubbing their bumps in meetings at work
-Wearing 'Baby on Board'/ 'I love my bump' t-shirts
-Signing Christmas cards 'From Gary + Lisa + Bump'
-Moaning about it
And the most annoying thing fertiles do is discussing what month they next plan to conceive in either to avoid a 'Christmas baby' or an August birth because of the school year - and then doing it..
-
Chickpea, this really did make me chuckle - you hit the nail on the head. The other type of person though are the in-laws, distant family members or old friends of the parents who feel its their right to question when you will have children and in front of everyone, normally at large family events. No matter what you say you end up sounding like a new age career woman. However, if you ever told them the truth about the struggles that we go through then they shy away from you not knowing what to say although more often then not they end up telling you how they 'fell' without even thinking.... :wall:
:hello:Hello Lambanana and Must_try_harder
Ginvzt, I do hope you put your feet up at some point !! My friend now has a little emby baby too and she has taken some time off work to have a DVD fest - twilight series I suspect
Hope your all well, I have just started 2nd month of FSH injections - going to try a different tact this month with the 'babydance' (to coin someone elses term, lol) and have some 'date nights' to help get us in the mood

Hi Lambanana and Must_try_harder - enjoy the thread and ask questions! im not on often but like too pop by and see whats going on. lets hope your stay is not long - for the right reasons!
im vikki, been ttc 1st child for tooooooooooooooo long. had one m/c last sept, and still not luck. docs said everything appears ok with dh no problems with him, as for myself they cant seem to find anything wrong. frustrating is not the word. dont know where to go or what to do next. our next appt is in feb so far specialists been a waste of time we have not had any fertility treatment.
well dh and i are being hopeful and hoping that father xmas will be kind to us and deliver a bfp on xmas day. know its not going to happen but hey ho its our last attempt for 2010 so lets see what happens we def need one more person to be successful.
well hope everyone is well
may the babydust sprinkle and stick to everyone:A VK :A0 -
Hello all - hope there's some PMA in your lives today. I'm not feeling too optimistic this month, but I don't think I'll be too devastated if it doesn't happen.
I think infertility is a lot like grieving, and in every grief cycle, there are four stages - denial, anger, mourning and acceptance. Well, I think I've got to acceptance..! Testing on Sunday. It'll be hard to resist testing earlier, but then again, do I want to see a BFN sooner than I have to, if a BFN it is to be? I'm currently CD25, 9DPO. No symptoms - just dreading any serious cramps showing up to spoil my little Hope Party!

I had a dinner party last night - very nice too. Although I was gutted - I left the Camembert out all day to go gooey, but the house was so cold it stayed hard!0
