I thought the 'dye' part from a lap and dye was the same as a HSG, and therefore a HSG would flush you out just as well. I may be wrong though. I do like the idea of a couple of weeks off work though, I actually don't mind being sick much if it means i get to relax and not do much, so long as i don't feel absolutely horrendous.

That is what I was explained as well: the flushing is the same, it is just if there is something not working, they can check and sort out if they are 'inside'.

I would love time off work, but to be honest, in those two weeks I had off, I haven't done much appart from sitting on the sofa, as I was in pain! I was hoping to feel better and do some work in the garden (like collecting the gooseberries, which all rotted away as I just couldn't collect them), or the house. I have to say - it wasn't very relaxing. But probably that is just me.

I am not saying I wouldn't do anything I can to have a baby. But putting myself at risk which is not justified, wouldn't be something either me or my OH would consider. In the end - if you do have a child, the main thing he/she needs are healthy and happy parents.

I am on day 5 of stimulation drugs, and apart from some horrible headaches, I am ok. Have my first scan on Wednesday - will see what that shows.

Hey all. HAve a couple of days left of my 2ww but don't feel pg at all. Did a test this morning which was out of date (found it at back of cupboard!) and it was neg, so have no hopes though will do one more if AF doesn't arrive. How about you Q? We're cycle buddies so it must be about time for you too?

He he, no, I ov'd late, so am only 4DPO:o
Does out of date hpt work ok?
    Fingers crossed:)
  • Do you know, the fertility specialist has never mentioned HyCoSy's or HSGs to me - I've been assuming that's coz they're not available on NHS. But maybe that's what I should ask for if/when I go private?

    +++++++++

Anyway, the results from the FSH test that I did on cd1 are in - and my ovarian reserve is fine.

So I'm ovulating, my cycle is regular, my ovarian reserve is fine, my tubes are probably open, I have no cysts, my womb lining is fine, my OH is firing on all cylinders, and I'm otherwise healthy...

So why can't I get pg?!

Come on Clomid - fix me!

Perhaps tell NHS it worked last time? HSG is not cheap.
    Glad FSH result was fine:T

I have my 1st scan later today. I am worried that I am feeling ok and not really any different to my usual month. Actually, I am feeling better: healthier, more energy, my face skin looks so much better. (I will eat my words later today, I bet). Apart from a few twinges/cramps, I had nothing (I have these every month anyway!). It is probably my hormones where completely messed up, and now that the drugs have switched them off, all is great.

Update from me. Had day 7 scan this morning, and I am disappointed... There are only 3 (possibly 4) follicles. I was told to continue as I am now, and I have the next scan booked on Friday...

I don't know the size of the follicles. The lining was 9mm, which is apparently good.

The doctor left so quickly after scan, i had no chance to ask anything. they messed up my notes as well, and he was sure I was there for baseline scan - he said my lining is too thick, and I should wait one more week. I quickly corrected him by saying that I am on Menopur.

I am a bit down at the moment. Will have a cup of tea and a chocolate to lift my mood.

Anything I can do to 'help' my body?

I've tried various things to no avail.

I think the idea is to get the blood flowing to that area.
I've tried putting my legs up on the wall for few minutes everyday & using a massage machine on my lower back:cool:

They say fast walking or exercising is not good, but being sedentary is also bad:o

Since they said you have 3 follicles, I assume it'll be about 7mm onwards, as they can't see anything smaller than that.

Follicle grows about 1-2mm/day, so it'll be mature in 7 days. You are on CD7, so ov at CD14 should be fine.
You only need 1 good egg:cool:

Some more follices may develop before your next scan they can change quite alot. Your linning sounds perfect as it needs to be at least 10mm for transfer and you have got plenty of time for it to grow a bit more.

At your next scan ask for the sizes then it will show how well the menopur is working. I will keep my fingers crossed that some more follicies appear for you. As said before it only takes one. Keep positive.

I felt the same when taking the drugs (normal) just gets lots of rest and drink plently of water.

I'm off on hols tomorrow but hope to come back to some BFPs!!
