Hi ladies, I wondered if you mind me asking a few quick questions. I'm normally on other areas of the forum but just stumbled across this thread and wondered if you'd be able to offer any advice.
I'm 27 and my husband and I have been ttc for 2 years. I have PCOS and so this week went to the doctors and was prescribed Metaformin to help me ovulate.
The doctor I saw was very nice but since having come away and had a think about things I have more questionsMy cycle isn't regular and ranges from 32-45 days. In light of this I wondered if anyone who has irregular cycles would recommend using a fertility monitor (such as Clearblue), or is this a waste of time because you need to be regular? Also, if you have irregular cycles is it worth taking your temperature every day - if so can I do this with a normal thermometer or do I need a special one for this type of thing?
Thank you in advance.2013: Interflora Vouchers, Christmas Decorations, NNUK goody bag, thermos flask, macwet gloves0 -
Hi PinkPeach:wave:
I have PCOS and my cycles are irregular ranging from 26-54 days.
I chart temps using BBT thermometer (has more decimal points than a normal one).
I also use Clearblue fertility monitor, but I use it when I think ov is coming close, as sticks are expensive;) The monitor only caters for cycles ranging from 21-42 days.
Also, I use cheap OPKs:http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001G7STT0/ref=pd_luc_mri?ie=UTF8&m=A4DI4ZJ5WTRP7
I usually start from around CD7, once a day in the afternoon, and once the lines starts to get dark, 3 times a day.
It's cheap so one could use it often:)0 -

Thanks so much for your reply. Being the curious creature that I am I now have a couple more questions if thats ok?
Firstly can anyone recommend a BBT thermometer? Had a quick internet seach but there are so many!
Please can you explain whether you use the OPKs throughout the month as well as simultaneously with the clearblue sticks?
And finally, what is CD7? I had a hunt aournd for the abreviations but couldn't find them!
Sorry for the questions - now that i'm taking tablets to help with ttc my problems suddenly seems more real and I feel like I ought to have a better understanding about how this all works/what I can do to help the situation myself.2013: Interflora Vouchers, Christmas Decorations, NNUK goody bag, thermos flask, macwet gloves0 -

So long as it has 2 decimal points, cheap one would be fine I think:)Please can you explain whether you use the OPKs throughout the month as well as simultaneously with the clearblue sticks? And finally, what is CD7? I had a hunt aournd for the abreviations but couldn't find them!0 -

Good luck Gin on starting your injections I will be in my 2ww then!
4 days into stimming now and have a few twinges and feel a bit bloated. I have another scan on Tuesday but not allowed to inject till I get there as they may need to change my dosage - I am already on double dosage as last time I was bit of a slow burner. I am hoping for lots of folicles with lots of nice eggs growing.
I am a little bit concerned as I am still bleeding (very little) and its been 2 weeks now and that is so not like me. I need to be growing my lining now not losing any of it. When I had my scan on Mon they said it was all fine but if it hasn't stopped by Tues I will mention it to them.
Anybody got any (ICSI) tips on what I should be or should not be doing like eating and not eating etc anybody who has been successful, any help would be appreciated.BEST WIN LAST YEAR - MULBERRY HANDBAGSENDING STICKY VIBES TO THOSE WHO NEED THEM0 -
I've heard acupuncture is good for IVF, but have never had either.
If I were you, I'd eat pineapple too to help implantation, but that's just me:o
Good luck!:j0 -
