I am so tired!!!!! I can barely sit up in my chair at work - I am near collapse... How can I increase my energy????? I haven't done much work as my head is not working at all, and all I want is just to lay down. Will have to be working over weekend to catch up, I think.
I am thinking about getting clearblue fertility monitor - not for this cycle, as I am already on day 3, and I am going back home for a week, but if it doesn't happen this month (I am pretty sure it will not), I am thinking of getting it for next cycle. I know it is pricey, but hey, we'll try everything, won't we? I am going to discuss it with OH to see what he thinks (probably just will laugh at me), and depending on what consultant says about my lap and what he is suggesting next, I think I will be spending the money.
What are your experiences with it?..Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
Thanks for all your good wishes-they worked! We got 9 eggies so waiting on the call tomorrow to see if/how many have fertilised, and hopefully ET on Saturday.
Jiblets, You are completely normal, there are a signicant minority of us who felt that way. I was so bad on the Clomid I was signed off by my GP for months! I was confused, emotional(Sobbing/then nearly hysterical), in a constant state of anxiety. I walked out of my Mums 60th Birthday meal, because I couln't pull myself together and stop crying. Before I got signed off I made some pretty big C*ck-ups in work, and just wasn't functioning at all. It didn't work for me, but I am really glad I tried so I don't think 'What if...'
Sorry Ginvst, I've never used one, but I know I'd try anything that might help. Do take a look at the ongoing costs though as I think its as expensive as buying opk's each month, and that's on top of the initial £100 or so. As to feeling that it will never be me...I have that feeling all the time even though I am slap bang in the middle of IVF-Crazy hey?
Winky xRight now I'm having amnesia and deja- vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before0 -
Well done on the 9 eggs, winky.
I havent used one either ginvzt, although I may consider one too, alongside other thoughts - now Im over 40, I am consious that I am slowing down on time, so I need to make every month count - although I am not sure about making it clinical, iyswim. Will be giving it more thought too!!

I used a CBFM for 6 months as part of a clinical trial.
I did find it quite....not invasive but kind of clinical....whilst hubby thought it put too much pressure on him to perform even if he didn't want to.
I would say to him 'I got a peak today' (which means you are going to ov in the next 24-36 hours) and he would mutter about having to perform.
After the first couple of months I didn't tell him when I got my peaks, I just tried it on that night with him and if it worked, great, if he didn't want to then I tried the next night....which usually worked
Personally though I wouldn't now go and spend the money on one even though I know how good they are purely because they are IMO expensive to run and there are far cheaper ways out there to determine the days you should ov.

I have been using the clear blue fertility sticks since being prescribed the Clomid last month. I followed the gyneas advice on waiting till around day 12 to start testing as i usually have 28/29 day cycles. Having used the stick yest and finally get the equal cloloured blue lines have got down and done the deed. I find the usage of the sticks more of a bug bind than actual deciding which days to go for it. Each morning getting up thinking is it today and geting a negative response made me more anxious than going through all the tests i have had done at the hospital and the later in the cycle i found my self ovulating the more i began to convince myself the hospital had got it wrong.
Having bought the kits last month in Boots on bogof have discussed with Oh using them continually whilst on the clomid to boost chances of getting the correct day but it is too frustrating and would rather have sex every other day and see what happens.
I have found i dont like the depressing mood i am under on the clomid my head permenently feels in a fog and i am so lethargic it kills, am so glad i have an understanding partner who knows its not my usual state and is making allowances and working around me.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

Is it just me or anyone else sometimes get this? I was just sitting at work today and I suddenly thought I can't imagine myself being pg. We have been trying for so long, and I was expecting it to happen 'anytime now', but suddenly, I can't imagine that happening at all. Because it is taking time, I can't imagine one day just being pg and announcing it to 'the world'. Maybe it is not meant to happen to me? I should be just happing for having OH, who loves me so much and for my cat, who loves me even more (I think...)!!!

Thanks all. I tried cheap OV sticks before, but in all months I used them, I think I got positive only once!!! So they don't really work well for me, although I know I am ovulating. I will have a think about it. I am taking my temp in the mornings again, and it makes me feel better. I love numbers...
I am so bad today, I just told of OH for not being considerate enough and not understanding that I really have no energy. I tried to sleep when I got home (left work early, as couldn't do anything!!!), but no luck. I did stay in bed for about 1.5 hours, but couldn't fall asleep! I stopped in shop and got some more fruit and got smoothies to help me with energy levels, hopefully... Oh, and my weight is going up quite a bit this week, although I am not indulging at all!!!! I put 2kg on in less than 2 weeks!!!!!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
Hi Ginvzt,
I use the cbfm, I started using it last novemeber. I personally love it, I find it's like Christmas waiting to open a present in the morning to see what reading the monitor is giving me! How sad am I! I'm like you I tried ov strips and never got a positive. My cycle has been very erratic so temping was useless aswell. I've ov'd anything from CD13 to CD22 so unless we were going to bd for the majority of the month it would never happen. Neither DH or I have a high sex drive so that would be our worst nightmare every month! As for the sucess of the monitor I have to say for the first 7 months of using it my prolactin levels were too high to enable me to conceive so in theory I've only been using it 3 months and am hopefull we'll get our much longed for BFP soon! As for the costs I bought mine off ebay for £45, the test sticks are expensive though unless you can get them on offer. There was someone on the TTC thread that managed to get a m onitor on freecycle by posting a wanted ad so may be worth a look there too.0 -
I absolutely cannot believe it. Those tears I was having yesterday were PMT. AF has arrived today - and it's only CD18! That means in the 3 months I have been on clomid my cycles have been 30 days, 40 days and 18 days. How on earth am I meant to make things work with erratic cycles like that? It's just driving me crazy.
OH rang the counsellor for an appt for me today, and she took my name, said she'd look at my notes and then ring me with an appt. Is that usual practise? Is is quicker to see a counsellor than to see the consultants?
Did I say I've got an appointment to see the gynae consultant on September 10th re removing my tube. I hope it all moves quickly from there then. I'm desperate to get the op done before christmas when I get a new boss.
I am so fed up of not knowing what's going on in my own life.Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0 -
For those who find it hard to get a +ve using ovulation tests, when we were doing the IUI cycle we were advised to test twice a day, not once, as it is so easy to miss the surge. FMU is also not good to use. It varies from woman to woman, but not everyone will register a surge over a 24 hour period, so it is quite possible that you have ovulated even though your OPKs have been negative all month.
Having said that, I did succumb to the lure of a CBFM, and we did succeed in conceiving after about 6 months of using it, combined with other assistance.0
