  • I have the same problem id'ing CD1 - I usually get light spotting, that occasionally builds up, dies off, stops altogether, starts again and it can be 5 days later before proper bleeding. I just have to make a guess at it.

From what I have read, CD1 is the first day of proper bleeding i.e. the kind you'd need protection for. If heavy bleeding starts in the afternoon or evening, count the next day as CD1.

It is not always an exact science though...

    Good luck with next steps.
  • Lilo - any sign of AF?

    Any testing?

Apologies if you've said already and I missed it, but the last I remember, AF was due a visit..?

Thanks Chickpea. I get the same, although not quite 5 days but it can take couple of days sometimes.

I guess I'll see how I am in the morning

    Goodnight

It all mounts up. And my husband wonders where all our money keeps disappearing to..
Are you really taking all that?
I'm only taking Pregnacare and Vit B50 complex.
    I'll start robitssun soon though:p
Oh, and I have CBFM, IC OPKs and just bought Preseed... ... ... :rotfl:

Oh, and I have CBFM, IC OPKs and just bought Preseed... ... ... :rotfl:

I don't do ALL of those things concurrently! Not quite...at the moment I'm using:

    -Conceive Plus
    -Multivits inc folic acid
    -Baby aspirin in 2ww
-Occasional glug of Gaifenesin c. ov
    -Acupuncture (starts 1 Oct)
-Fertilitea (cost 12 quid per packet and it's gathering dust - I'll start it again CD1)
-Maca - I add this to Barley coffee and it's not that bad
-I use a CBFM (and I stop testing after 1st peak!)
-I have a mountainload of IC OPKs and HPTs too
-Hypnotherapy Fertility CD - it's quite relaxing pre-bed
-I burn a baby powder scented candle because I read it's supposed to help
-Oh and first 2 weeks of cycle I use 'fertility bath oil' which is obviously a crock of carp but I figure it won't do any harm
-The Dong Quai (sp) is unopened, I can't remember why I got that
-I see a PT once per fortnight, it's close to the only exercise I do at the minute

    Is that it?

Oh and I've just ordered some Bee Pollen.

I suppose it's a lot but I have four and a half years of infertility under my belt (and counting), so I have just kind of picked things up as I go.

    None of it helps though.

I'm counting on the lovely Fertility Specialist at the hospital next week.

I do hope she doesn't just tell me to go away and lose weight too..

(On that note, I've lost another pound! 6 in 10 days!) I need to lose another 6 to get a sub 30 BMI!)

    Here's hoping...

I can't afford to fall at the last hurdle...(but I could KILL for a glass of wine! I bought some lovely new wine glasses today that are crying out to be christened...but I shall refrain. I'll have a glass or two next Friday, AFTER seeing the consultant.)

For tonight, I shall stick to black coffee and an early bed!

(Starting to get a few AF symtoms, still mild. CD26, 10DPO, still a BFN. Oh well.)

I got the Yankee Candle Baby Powder candle from ebay. It's nice. Most of the things I've tried have been a waste of money, but at least I can't be accused of not trying everything...nearly).

    Take care!

    Huge congrats to alamaya!

Congrats also on those shredding the pounds! I've been on an exclusion diet since June to try and figure out if my IBS is caused by food intolerances, and as a result have lost about 10lbs. I'd actually like to loose a little bit more to get to my idea weight, but it now seems to be going up again! It can be quite confusing seeing it go up and down day by day.

sexki11en - your plans sound positive, hopefully you'll see the benefit soon :)

Me and OH have our first appointment at the fertility (or should that be infertility?) clinic nexty wednesday, so we didn't have to wait too long at all in the end :D So can i expect an internal examination on the first appointment?
Proud to be a moneysaver!
  • If it's an NHS consultant/specialist, I doubt you'll have an internal of any sort.

They'll probably just give you, quite literally, a consultation, to suss out what you've been doing, how long you've been trying and to rule out elementary probs like no OV.

Then they'll write it up and give you a recommendation - that can vary though, depending on what the consultation brings up.

For me first time out, she recommended a LAP&DYE to investigate any abnormalities in abdominal cavity and to check out all my bits were where they were supposed to be and that there was no endometriosis or the like.

If that hadn't worked within 3 months, she was going to put me on 6 months worth of Clomid.

    ++++++++

I have my first appointment with specialist next Fri TTC#2 - no idea what to expect second time out.

    Good luck next week!

Thanks chickpea, so it's more of a chat and info on what they are going to do next? In that case hopefully it won't be too long until they actually start the tests...
