I went to see a nurse not so long ago because of my fertility problems and she carried out an internal scan. she found a follicle in one of my ovaries and said I should be OV'ing by the end of the week.
When was that end of the week? Has it been 2 weeks (since the end of the week)?

I had a scan on 13th Aug (CD12), and my follicle measured only 11mm. The doc said I might ov next week, or maybe I won't:o
So I think it might depend on how big the follicle was?
Also I know sometimes even if the follicle is big enough, it still does not necessary pop.

I have PCOS, so I can ov way late, like CD40:o
ready to go ahead with IUI but I broke down in appointment and couldnt go ahead with it,
My doctor is hinting on IUI too:o I think we'll try that soon. I haven't read much about it yet, but of the things I've read, it doesn't sound so bad. It said it is like a longer version of the smear test.

    Hi girls

    Thanks for all the welcomes

Qquaver - Apparently clomid can build up in your system and start to become less effective, so it's not unusual for O to be delayed the second month. Last month my CD11 scan didn't really show anything, but on CD18 there was a 22mm and a 16mm follicle ready to pop so your still in with a chance this month! Are you going for another scan next week? It's probably worth asking to go up to 75mg next month if you don't get a BFP

    Hi Star
When you are taking clomid, do you actually get monitored to see if you OV every month? Like one of those internal scans to see if any follicles are maturing???

Yes, I've had internal scans every month so far. However, the nurse said I won't need one next month, which is a bit scary!

Friday's scan showed a 17mm on the left ovary and a 16mm on the right ovary so small chance of twins but good news. However, my lining is a little bit thin at 7mm so they've put me on Progynova to try and make it thicker

Its like a natural clomid. Im the wrong side of 40 and found that my cycle had reduce to 26/26 days, this has evened them back to 28 days, so Im happy. Apparently can strengthen the eggs. Im quite happy with it, this is month 3.

I have tried just about everything, but have a lot against me now, as I had my cervix removed when I had cancer. Still I have every hope of having a second!

Thank you fantasia322, I must admit Im in a better place than I have been in a while, and am a lot more laid back about it now! I do believe that if it is meant to be it will happen XXX

With the follicles, they may not actually contain an egg, so having one present is no guarantee, although NORMALLY they would contain one. The are too small to be detected on the scan. If they take a blood test at the same time, that will give them the biggest clue as to whether the follicle is empty or not. HTH

Appointment was 3rd of Aug so it's 2 weeks tomorrow from appointment. So no, not 2 weeks from end of the week yet

Agghh I wish I paid more attention to the numbers. I really don't remember the mm she quoted. 20mm rings a bell but not sure

My good friend has literally just found out she is expecting her 2nd. She's been desperate for a little brother or sister to her daughter who is 15 months old and was beginning to get very upset. But she got her BFP today!! YAY!! It would be pretty cool to have same age babies but I really am trying to not to get my hopes up. :o

    Hi Kairi

It's still too early to tell, but it sounds very likely that you did O. As the nurse says, you should expect AF or BFP at the end of the week - it's still too early to tell. It's very promising that you O'd on your own.

Have you been temping at all? That's the best way to tell if you O or not

Seems that has happened to me:(
My next scan is Thursday. If no follicle, then on to inducing AF, and I think he said 100mg Clomid next cycle:o

I'm rubbish at temping. I've got the kit next to my bed so that when the alarm goes off, all I have to do is stick it in my mouth but I remember to do it for a few days and then I forget. So every cycle I try again but never actually get to the day when I hopefully would be OV'ing.

I bought a CB pregnancy test today ready for the weekend. It's a twin pack and I am ssoooooooooooo tempted to try one out now. I know I shouldn't but I want to... I must be strong!!! 20th can't come quick enough!

On another note, what a lovely weather again today!! And I've still got 2 days left of my holiday. I had to go to dentist today though and he drugged me up loads today to do a little cavity in one of my wisdom teeth. That made me think, would anaesthetic be bad for a baby???
