I ovulate at all sorts of different times, so these are my friends.
For example this cycle I started testing on day 17 as I've ovulated as early as day 19 before. But this time I didn't ovulate until day 27. I like these cheap tests so I can test a lot and be sure I don't miss it.

yup, they look identical to the access diagnostic ones which always seemed to give me an "almost +ve" at the right time. Didn't get them as cheap as that though!!!

I just keep my thermometer on the bed side table and take temp as soon as I wake up (or alarm wakes me up) orally, before getting out of bed.

I stopped writing it down as I finished my Boots BBT diary and decided not to buy a new one. But - I love numbers, so can't resist checking if it risen (at the mid-month) or dropped (at the end of the month) yet...

    hiya,

i must admit my cycle seems very erratic. i think i may try the temperature test, although if i can stay in bed a full 3 hours i will be surprised! so perhaps both might be helpful for me, these are a fab price!

edit - i have just read the reviews on these, not many people happy with them??

christ i dont know where to start! we are not going to be trying for a good while yet, i just wish i could know if im working down there!

pebbles88, how's your cervical mucous? They can be amazingly accurate in predicting ov:cool: If you haven't got much, there are ways of increasing them by drinking grapefruit juice etc

I haven't read the reviews but in my experience they are OK. Sometimes it's difficult to be sure that the second line (for a positive result) is properly there. Unlike the pregnancy tests, the second line can sometimes be seen faintly. A positive test is when the second line is as dark or darker than the control line.
As I've been using these for months now I find I'm quite used to the different shading.
For me it's more the price - wouldn't be very moneysaving if I did 10 tests a month with ones from the chemist!

As other posters (and websites) say it's best to use a couple of methods to track OV, so I also take my temp in the morning and find it fits in nicely with the results from the OV tests.

I also tried checking mucus and cervix position, but I don't always notice too much difference.

If you're a wimp put a bag of frozen peas on the area before you Jab.

If you are really, really wimpy (like me) you can get Emla cream from the chemist which numbs the area - mind you this does work out expensive .

TBH you will probably find that your adrenalin gets you through it.

Good luck, keep us posted, and I'll be thinking of you.

Brilliant news jiblets! I was always told to scratch the area where the jab is going in - it apparently sets off all the nerves so they dont notice the needle! Seemed to work for me - All the best XXXXXXXXXXXXX

    Thankyou ladies.
Jab number 1 was easy peasy! I can't believe it, but I didn't feel a thing! I was going to take over once hubby felt "involved", but he must have done an excellent job because I literally didn't feel it. I had a frozen mozerella packet on my belly first. Wonder if that helped...
I would imagine it might get a bit harder after I've done a few, because I will have some more sensitive areas from being previously jabbed? But this one was good anyway. It's so nice when something is easier than expected. Doesn't happen very often....
Though this (induced) period is hurting. ooooh achey achey.
