foxy, I haven't been on Metmorfin. I had 7 months on Clomid, and the last (current) month I am on Letrozole.

WEll, after my HMRC phonecall, and the IVF referral phonecall, I made another one - to the estate agents to arrange a viewing for a house (I hate all their questions about financial situation - how much can you afford (exactly the price of the house I want to view), how much deposit you have(not telling you), would you like our mortgage advisor to go through the numbers with you - the hell no, I am not telling how much I can really afford!). But - the viewing is booked for Saturday, it is a repossession, so if we do like it and decide we want to buy, it is going to be tricky with us going on holiday for 2.5 weeks!!!! It is very nicely priced, huge 4-bed with big bedrooms and plenty of space. It would also mean, that we have some money left in the bank, and we might be able to change our cars as well (I was hoping to change might next year).

Well he said he would start me on Metformin to see if that makes me ovulate and then Clomid together with Metformin if the Metformin doesn't work on it's own.
When I asked him about Clomid he said he wouldn't give it on it's own as it increases the chances of multiple births. (2 babies are better than none in my opinion, but hey ho he's the expert)

I suppose there's different types of PCOS, and different doctors.
    I don't mind a twin though:D

Right, or none in my case. I had multiple follicles developing in 2 of my monitored cycles (first 4 were not monitored at all). The first cycle had 2 possibles and a few smaller. The second cycle had 8 (!!!!) viable, so we were advised not to bd for the rest of the month. The last month I had my dose halved and got 1 good follicle and a few smaller ones.

But - I had no problems to OV, so consultant was just hoping for 2 good follicles and maybe one of those will have an egg that will fertilise.

Have all you guys been on Metformin before then?

I was started on Metformin for PCOS. In truth I found it did nothing for me. I took it for a few months and then stopped.

It can have side effects - it made me very sick and bad diarrhoea which is partially why I stopped taking it as every time I tried to increase the take 3 times a day it would just make me ill again. Sorry to not have a more positie experience to tell you.

I was then put on Clomid on its own and out of 6 cycles only responded to 1.

However on a plus note I am now 29 weeks pregnant after my 3rd (and last) cycle of puregon injections so we did get there in the end.

Everyone responds differently to all treatment. Clomid does increase multiple births as do all fertility drugs as they tend to make you produce more than one egg.

Good luck and hope the Metformin wors for you

It is going quick now. Starting to feel a bit better but still sick and tired. Am in the middle of moving house at minute but it's been a nightmare. Was meant to move end of March and still haven't. Moving into rented but can't get a date from our buyer so at the minute I will be homeless as we can't secure a rental until we get more answers etc etc I hate moving house.

Ginzvt hope your move is easier. It's such a stressful time.

I still read on here regularly but am more of a lurker. Keep my fingers crossed all the time for you all!!
