I've got some news! (Don't get excited)

I just had a call form hospital asking me if I can come for my first appointment next week! The referral letter or IVF was only sent out this week, and today I got a call already. I can't believe it! (I have a big grin on my face)

Apparently, it is a consultation, and OH doesn't have to attend it. So I am not sure what to expect really. If the appointment wasn't so close, there would be a scan at the same time, but because it is just a week until it, I was told the scan will be some other day.

I found the acupunture really good, it helped with my IVF, it incourages blood flow and I had a nice thick lining for my embie to attach onto, sadly it didn't work but I am going to have it again in my next cycle. I also found it very calming and relaxing, especially needed in these trying times.

Well done on your appointment Ginvzt, that is so quick, I've got my appt on Thurs but had to wait 3 months before I got that and its been a year since last cycle, due to NHS playing up.

Thanks all!!!! I am still in a bit of a shock. I came hope to find a letter from hospital to fill in our details, etc.

And another thing that happened - my manager asked me if I could go abroad with work in about a month's time. I was still thinking over that things happened so soon and although I really like those trips, I was trying to ask him if I can give an answer later. But he needed it today, so went off to our kitchen to talk, and I said that I might be starting treatment soon and that is why I needed half Tuesday off. He just asked what was it about and I just said IVF! He asked do I know what will happen, etc, but I didn't know anything to tell him apart from injections and scans! He said his friends went through IVF and had a successful result. I think he was in a bit of a shock as well, as he did mention that I might be going on maternity leave soon, but I just said I don't expect anything to happen soon. He also said that everything is confidential between us. Also, he was going to put me forward and just mention that things might be rescheduled as might have some minor medical treatment.

So, the stone off the chest with work and I don't need to keep making up some 'doctor appointments every time I have a scan or something else, we are on route to IVF, or very close (unless they do have different BMI limits at the hospital - but then I only have couple more kg to loose, so it won't take too long anyway). I have a prospect of a month away with work, which might be nice, as I do enjoy that kind of work.

So, it was a good day and we are celebrating with a glass of wine (yes, again) and bit of ice cream...

hope you don't mind me sharing as I'm going quietly crazy (well, OH knows but isn't going quite as crazy as me!)

After extolling the virtues of cheapo OV tests in some previous posts, I've been really confused by mine lately and today had time to have a good look at my chart and do some googling. Basically after last night I had 6 positive OV tests in a row (definite big positives with much darker lines) - was googling and couldn't find anything useful. I was basically thinking 'omg, another unexplained thing wrong with me'. Then after more productive googling I found that OV tests also pick up the pregnancy hormone too...........

Then I got to thinking well, that doesn't count for me. But I checked the temps on my chart and I've got a typical dip and then rise around day 15/16. Which is just before I started testing as I've never ov'd before CD19 (since I started testing).
Then I got to thinking that it would also be impossible as we were really busy with work and hardly DTD in the week or so before I thought I was ov-ing. I checked the dates again and if I'd been OV-ing around CD 15/16 that was exactly when we'd gone on a short holiday and were just DTD for fun............

I wish I could "go advanced" at this point and put loads of those little blue heads, but the computer won't let me!!!!

I'm now waiting til tomorrow morning to do a pregnancy test, but also trying not to get my hopes up too much.....
