Hi all,
Just found this thread and bearing in mind that AF has showed up again this morning thought it was a good time to post and tell you about myself.
Me 38, DH 30 (yep, I have toy boy!). Been trying since Aug 2007.
Went to the docs Nov 2008 (should have gone earlier but was a bit scared to). I tested ok on the day 21 test and have a regular 28 day cycle and according to CBFM ovulate every month like clockwork. Have really heavy AF, so much so I have to work from home etc. as can fall over and get really giddy - has also made me anaemic.
DH didnt fair so well (in his Jan 09 test) and was told he had a low count and too much mucous so the little swimmers couldnt get anywhere! Hubby had acupuncture and changed his diet and in Mar 09 the count and motility had improved but still too much mucous according to GP. We were referred to Fertility specialist and saw both the gynae and the urologist in June 2009.
Urologist didnt know why he was even present as DH's 2nd test was within normal parameters (typical!). So the Gynae asked about my heavy AF and why no-one had investigated. Did a scan and found a large fibroid (which he didnt think was in the way) and a polyp that was def. in the way! and could be preventing implantation.
Was scheduled for a lap/dye, hysteroscopy and polypectomy beg. of Sept 09. 1st op cancelled after 8 hours sat in a hospital gown waiting! 2nd Op went ahead end of Sept 09. The Registrar carried out hysteroscopy and consultant did lap/dye.
Saw consultant in Jan 2010 and guess what, the stupid polyp is still there! The registrar saw it, documented it but did he remove it, nope! The fibroid luckily is on the outside (subserous) so shouldnt be getting in the way.
So here I am on the waiting list for a 2nd hysteroscopy and polypectomy and am totally dismayed at the NHS.
Well enough ramblings, thats my story. Loads of baby dust to us all, and if that doesnt happen lots of nice exotic holidays instead.DFW Nerd no. 108LBM: Jan 2010 DFD: June 2014 - 27.1% paid off so farWeight loss (started 12/05/2012) = 37lbs/109lbs0 -
Welcome BoobyLou - I'm sure you will find lots of support here - if only to use the board as a place to rant xx
Just a quick post from me - didn't know if anyone had seen the article in The Mail at the weekend. My MIL told me about it so went and found it online

Thought it was quite interesting - especially the testimonial from Natasha who has had the same as op as me, lilo and shelley.
I checked out this chaps clinic and to see him costs about £400 for the first consultation which I can't afford (plus going to London) but I have just booked myself in with someone in Southampton who does the chinese five element acupuncture. Can't hurt! (or maybe it can with those needles ha ha).
Hope someone else finds it useful.

Thanks for that news story nadine, makes interesting reading.
It's definately something I'd be interested in but I know that until I lose some...ok lot's...of weight it's not even worth me mentionin it to hubby.
I have bookmarked it though for future reference.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
I had some accupuncture which I found useful, although the eventual diagnosis was that there was nothing wrong with either me or my OH! My OH has been diagnosed as low sperm count/motility, but the accupuncturist was insistent that he was OK!
Shelly, I had reflexology some years ago for weight loss which I found a great help. Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

I was contemplating accupuncture, I think when ttc we'd give anything a go after a while!
Sadly it's not as easy as 'just lose some weight'. Luckily things fell into place as I ate lots of greens, pulses, & fish, took some yukky Saw Palmeto, cheapy pregnacare type supplements from chemist, multi-vitamins, and went walking & swimming.. Walking approx 5 miles at least twice a week, swimming at least once a week - didn't go too mad
Just before I found I was pregnant, I'd had blood tests that came back saying that I wasn't ovulating! This wasn't that surprising as I am hugely overweight (about 5ft 2 and 18st.); & due to being irregular my duedate changed by 2 months! eek! So I may pop at any time...
I just wanted to pop on here and wish everyone all the best; I may be back on here in the near future. <hugs> x0 -
Evening :hello:
Ginvzt - Sorry AF arrived, glad you are feeling ok and good luck for this month
Welcome Boobylou!

kizmet - this is my 6th month on Clomid too and I have one more to go before we are referred for IVF (if I lose enough weight). I am only on CD4, so long way to go still. I was told by the nurse when I had my pregnyl injection, that I would be allowed 12 months of clomid, and if after these 7 months I want to stay on Clomid, then that is fine if we don't get pregnant still, we can get referred for IVF. If we go for IVF after these 7 months and it doesn;t work, we (I) can come back to 'finish off' my allowed Clomid.
I woke up this morning with good intentions of going to the gym before starting the work, arrived there just before 8 and it was closed. So, I waited, as I though surely, they must open by 8. Well, someone arrived 8:10, unlocked the gym, but then I still couldn't go to the exercise machines, as there was no one at the reception to tell me what the code is to get in to the room! So, a bit (a lot) disappointed I decided to go home. There were no opening hours on the outside or inside of the building. I had a leaflet at home, which I haven't checked before, but when I came home, it said it opens at 8:30. If I go to work from office, I arrive at the office at 8am, so there is no chance for me to go to the gym before work. Sad, really...
So, i am back home at my laptop and this afternoon I have my dentist appointment. Not looking forward to that (it is just a check-up, but I hope they won't find anything wrong).Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
Both hubby and I have acupuncture. Whilst I cannot say if its helping my situation, it certainly helps relax me which I feel is pretty important in this whole process. As for hubby, there was a marked improvement with the number and motility of his little swimmers and the two things that he did inbetween the bad test result and the improved one was change to diet (ease off the dairy) and acupuncture.
ginvzt - good luck at the dentists, I hate going too. One thing about my dentist is he is quite good looking, so a bit of fantasizing helps distract me! (just dont tell hubby)DFW Nerd no. 108LBM: Jan 2010 DFD: June 2014 - 27.1% paid off so farWeight loss (started 12/05/2012) = 37lbs/109lbs0 -
