    Hello all.

Welcome to all new members and hope (in the best sense) that you won't stay here long.

Lilo, I am glad your news are good. I hope a small miracle will happen for you soon!

Nothing to report here - cd24, and I am having my appointment this afternoon with the consultant (or one of his team... as it stated in the letter). Don't know what to expect, but I guess I will just be given another X months supply of Clomid and maybe some scans during the cycle as well. It is probably going to be 5 min appointment: "You are not pregnant yet? Here is a prescription for more Clomid and call the hospital on the CD1 to book an apoitment for a scan. See you when you finish this Clomid."

How many folicular scans have you had prior to this visit? Have you had to have blood test with every xx months of clomid?

I was told where i go for my treatment they do the blood tests for two months/cycles prior to clomid then once you take it they do month one and three. Folicular tracking should be done on cycle two but they missed that with me and i had it on cycle four.

You dont sound too hopefull about todays app, chin up and ((hugs)) to you.xx

I had 4 months of clomid, no blood tests, no tracking. I have been ovulating perfectly fine without clomid, so I think they didn't see a point to keep testing.

I have nothing to be hopeful about - we are both declared clear, but yet we still have no proof of that!

I think having children around recently make it a bit more difficult. We had our friends over this weekend with their 15 month girl. She was amazing. Very well behaved, very happy and smart child. Even OH said 'I would pay good money to have a child like that'.

Oh, and I keep dreaming that I have child of my own (I was breastfeeding one the other night in my dream), I woke up this morning imagining that a little girl was calling 'Papa'. Oh, when someone posted ' P M A P M A ' the other time, it was not what I read (Papa, mama). It will pass. It always does.

I put on the trying to concieve thread last night that the fertility nurse said for many couples they can both come out clear, but the folicular tracking could pick up you are producing too many eggs, ideally they have to see between 1 - 3 in each ovary, if you prodcue more and it is seen on the scan it can be as bad as not producing enough iyswim. The other thing with the tracking is you get told which days to dtd, slightly unromantic but if it gets results who knows, this is why i think i got pg as i knew the exact days each ovary went unfortunatly it werent meant to be but baring that in mind gives me more optimism for it happening again.

If i have several (sp) today its come i have had 5 hours sleep in 3 days due to problems with my son. Feel like i can only talk/type one syllable words at min and still have to correct typing on that

  • Still lurking ....but not a lot to say ....

Nothing new to report here ....CD2 ....consultant appointment 15th Feb, nothing more to be done for DH, he's had 2 SA, urology checks, ultrasounds for swelling (all clear ....!) and all conclud his swimmers are almost defunct. Urologist is suggesting that IUI isn't going to be possible so straight to IVF, just have to wait for consultant opinion ....

  • Will they fund you for that cedrickerry - I hope they do. Hopefully IVF will do the trick and you will fall first time, I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Ginvzt, hope the appt goes well. I keep thinking something in the back of my mind, that with clomid it can affect the production of cervical mucus, making it too sticky or something. I am sure that the anecdotal recommendation is to take a cough medicine containing gunafeisen (or something like that) as it loosens your mucus everwhere, not just the chest! You may want to google it to see what they are talking about. I believe the reason for having clomid when you are already ovulating is to produce more than one egg each month and therefore increase your chances, like IVF having 2 embryos rather than one. This is why you get more twins than normal on Clomid and IVF.

Stef, my consultant would agree with you on the number of eggs. She prefers a more natural and lower drug dose form of IVF so that you produce between 3 and 7 eggs, rather than the 20+ that some clinics do. She says that of the 20 produced not all will be able to become babies genetically, and the odds are that you will chose 2 that wont rather than 2 that will. by producing less eggs, you are reducing the odds. Her absolute preference is to do IVF with the natural egg that you produce without stimulation. As she is one of the leading fertility specialists in the country, I assume she knows what she is talking about. I am not even sure that she offers 'normal' IVF at the clinic at all.

Sorry you are short of sleep stef, I feel like that, but not through lack of sleep, but a stinking cold. I feel so miserable and have nil concentration.

Well for anyone who is still awake after reading this post, have a good rest of the day! - Lilo

Hi everyone. Hope you dont mind me posting.

Im a regular posting on the other TTC thread. Just wanted to ask a question if thats ok?
Well i have now had 3 miscarriages(all in the last 6/7months!) just wanted to know if anyone has had the tests done that they do after 3 mcs and what results they got and what they had to do for when they maybe next get pregnant?
I had some sort of blood test after my 2nd mc, which i know i was very lucky to get, but i didnt really get much results back from the doctor, he just said that my blood test was fine and with my next pregnancy i had 70-75%chance of that becoming full-term, well i proved him wrong. I just felt like he didnt really seem to care.

Hope you lot dont mind me asking
(i read this forum so i understand that some off you may not be able to answer my question, you all seem like wonderful ladies!):D
    Thank you

I managed! I am writing this on PS3!

So, I had my appointment. Was late as it took 45min to park! I got 3 more months of Clomid. On cd1 I need to call to arrange scan for cd11. I will have 3 months of tracking. The dose will be adjusted as needed and I will have injections to stimulate ovulation. If no success, I will see doctor then and next step would be IVF. For that I need to get my BMI under 30. It is 32 at the moment.

I feel like I have been writing for ages, but it is just a short message. I guess it is much slower with PS3!
