wanted to put my two penneth in about BMI's.

I am currently getting my BMI down to the requested 29/30 until they will put me on the IVF waiting list. I was bmi 34 when i started now bmi 32. I dont understand why they dont let you loose weight whilst on the waiting list. I am so stressed as my next appointment is at end of feb/beginning of march and if i am not at the right weight i will have to wait another 3 months till i am weighed and put on the list.

Its so unfair. I get so mad sometimes i am the one having to loose the weight i am the one who will get injections and tablets and invasive procedures and so far as we can tell there is nothing wrong with me. My husband has a low sperm count.

    ok rant over.
    Thanks for listening.

I think if they can see the bmi coming down they should put you on the waiting list, they can see how well your doing it just does not seem fair of them
  • Hugs to you all - hopefully it will be worth it when that line turns up on the poas!

    Evening everyone!

Ginvzt - What dose of Clomid are you on? I am on my 5th cycle of 100mg.

Emmzy and alamaya - that must be so annoying for you

JohnnieStar - Good luck for your hospital appointment tomorrow!

Not sure what is going on with my cycle this month as all ovulation tests so far have been negative and I am on day 27.... I have an appointment with my lovely consultant on Friday for what the next step is - I am thinking more clomid although I am not sure how long you are allowed to stay on it for - any ideas? x

  • Yeah, they usually say 6 months, but I know people who have been on it for 10, even 12 rounds. Good luck with the appointment x

Going down the Clomid path myself i have been told from the clinic i attend it is licenced in UK for 6 months however they will extend it to 12months if they can see it is helping ov. After 12 months no matter what mg you take it will no longer work. If you take clomid each consecutive cycle without a break you get a build up in your system which can increase the fertility up to 6 months after last dose taken. If the info i have been given from the nurse is correct.

I had 3 months consecutively, a two month break as no consultant apps available then prescribed a further 3 months. On the fourth cycle had follicular tracking and conceived that month but it ended in mc new years eve. I have 2 months left here but dont know when to start them, gp has said i can take them from first proper af but as mc increases fertility along side clomid i really dont want to up the chance of a multiple birth. Going to wait to AF's and if no joy will go back on clomid cycle 3.

I am on my 5th cycle too - but 50mg. I had a break last month as my appointment was 'rescheduled', but I am back to Clomid now. If no good luck, after all this I would have had 7 cycles of Clomid (4 before New Year, and I am prescribed 3 more months now).

I don't know what it can help me as I have been ovulating. I am just worried that the scans will show my lining is no good. But hey - just one more week and I will know more.

Gin - it could show only one ovary is ovulating per month and the clomid can help both produce. It can also show exactly how many eggs each month you will produce and help tell you what days you ov on and when to dtd. Although it sounds like a prolonged examination it takes you longer to get your knickers back on than the actual scan takes. It also helps to have a little fluid in your bladder incase one of your ovaries likes to hide - for me it is my left one thats camera shy.
