Part mouse - really understand how upsetting and infuriating it all is but lap and dye and OD does sound a better option as really doesn't sound like injections are helping and font want to put yourself through more of that if it is not going to help. Sending hugs tho x

Code - please don't panic about painkillers the clinics are used to people on medication. I am on two types of tablets for chronic headaches and I was permitted to take one of the tablets twice a day throughout my treatment and the other tablet I was told to restrict as much as possible but to take if necessary. If the treatment works and you get your BFP I assume that it is reviewed against that stage. My clinic said the treatment would have greater chance of success if I kept up medication rather than be in pain.

    MrsHappy - it's official! Great news x

Primmer its all so hugely frustrating, tbh I've totally lost heart with the injections but have been told to finish this cycle, as the lining has come away although not all of it I can't see a decent follicle coming after so long of injecting.it also seems pointless to carry on hoping it will stop the bleeding but will do as instructed.

T2d thanks somehow things always go wrong for me,must have been a b$tch in my last life. After so many bad things you get used to more happening all the time.dh has gone out and the cat has nicked my seat so off to move her.

Bit of a crappy couple of days for me. Having been told that the 3 rounds of antibiotics were for nothing, yesterday I went to the GP for more painkillers and within minutes of leaving the surgery, I was in severe pain. I went home and a few hours later I was crying and screaming with the pain, to the point where I called my mum. She took one look at me and made me go to A&E. They think I have something called Trigeminal neuralgia which causes episodes of extreme facial pain. They treat it with epilepsy drugs, anti-depressants and pain medication so I have anti-depressants and tramadol now and of course I'm worrying about ttc while this is all going on - like will I be in severe pain without medication through the pregnancy? Will they even give me fertility meds and help if I have something like this?

Code, hopefully it will settle in time of its own accord, but I think you need to speak to someone about this. Trigeminal neuralgia is usually a chronic condition and obviously those types of meds aren't compatible with a pregnancy.

A&E aren't the best people to talk about long-term prognosis or management of conditions. Have you been advised to go and see your GP? You need a referral to a consultant, IMO.

  • Oh code. What a nightmare. Hope the sleepy make feel good meds (tramadol) help- they make me scratch like a tweaking meth head so I can't take them anymore when my back kicks off. Sad times. I agree with fluff- get yourself to the doctors and demand a consultant appointment- with both fertility and someone for your condition.

Peonie- I'll be the one wearing a red rose and carrying a walking stick. Code sentence- Just relax, i'm sure it'll happen.... ;)

I thought that eeva was free on NHS @ Hewitt now. Why on earth did I think that and build my hopes up for that glorious success rate. I have about 50p to my name! I'm in there next week for the counsellor so I'll have to try and find someone who I can ask. Actually- stuff it. I'll email the finance people and ask them. If I get a reply I'll post it here.

T2D eeva is the time lapse thing along with a software system that picks the best eggs rather than letting the embryologist decide. I'm sure it's way more high tech than that but hey... :)

Eeva isn't free?! I thought we all just got that. That's the time lapse system right? So that means we won't get the better stat of 57% unless we fork out £800?!

What do you mean mr p forgot his pot?! What did he do then?! Men eh!
Update on EEVA - I spoke to someone who went through IVF this year at the Hewitt Center and she said EEVA is free - but teacake please check. The article that said the cost must be old - they really should update it.

Luckily the nurse gave Mr P a new pot.

This may be a silly question - but isn't a embryoscope just a webcam watching the embryos? I can get a lot of them for £800!

I'm sure its much more complex, but would love to know why.

In NHS related news, I got the standard 'you are due for a smear' letter yesterday. It makes me doubt the interlinkedness of NHS systems.
I wonder if they do the endometrial scratch as well?

I really don't think the NHS is linked. Last year I got about 5 the identical letters from the hospital to pass to my doctors; each told them I had a miscarriage. Imagine how much time would be saved if you didn't have to repeat everything from the doctors to the hospital, or vice versa. Plus, the information would not be wrong.

  • I think they do the scratch but you have to pay for it. It's on their price list. :)
  • Thank ladies. I know its not strictly TTC related but tbh that's where my biggest concern is at the moment. Waiting for a CT scan to confirm the dx - tbh I'm hoping its just a nasty virus or something. Wasn't expecting much from a&e but i was literally screaming with pain and I do have a decent pain threshold.

Bit disappointed with the Tramadol. Thought I'd be off my face or something but I just feel..a tiny bit sleeper than normal.

Really hoping it disappears and we can get on with ttc as normal. Waiting for the fs appointment which should be 12 weeks or so. Knowing the waiting list though I bet it will be well into next year. All the more time to get my BMI back under 30!

Opiates are weird; people have really quite differing responses to them. The OH really likes tramadol, I hate it - it makes my heart race and prevents me sleeping. Try taking it with co-codamol, but watch that you don't stop breathing :D
