In NHS related news, I got the standard 'you are due for a smear' letter yesterday. It makes me doubt the interlinkedness of NHS systems.

They certainly have communication issues. You only have to look at how many people on the m/c thread have then received scan appts etc to see that. Just one more annoyance when you need it least - didn't they spend about 15 gazillion quid on an IT system to avoid these things??

Tea - I've remembered the name of the egg donation people. It's Altrui http://www.altrui.co.uk/egg-donation/

Thanks T2D. Have had a scout around but they seem to only be looking for altruistic donors (don't you just love that if you're sharing you're not classed as altrustic... you're still doing a good thing!)

Am getting my hair cut today and I'm over-excited :) Coloured it last night and am getting layers put back in today. I saw a pic of myself yesterday and it was horrific.... but at least it made me get my @rse into gear and make an appt! Nothing at all to do with TTC but hey, it's cheering me up and not much has done that lately.

Hope everyone has exciting weekend plans :)

ETA: just realised that sounds like my only plans are getting my hair cut, I'm also having a bit of a social life this weekend :rotfl:.

    Hi all

bit of a full on day here :( got to carry on with the injections in the hope they will stop the bleeding by raising ovarian activity, have to say though that beyonde lots of little follices theres nothing that looks at all like its going anywhere. We have to carry on even if we over stim to see what my threshold is, we don't have a plan as to whats going on, its not looking like we can carry on with the injections next month and its looking like I will need lap and dye & OD which will most likely be next year :( by then we will have been trying/NTNP for 6 years :( it all feels pretty depressing and drawn out tbh.I realy hoped we would atleast get to ov this year but even that looks out of reach.

That's pretty much the only fun thing I have planned! Colour being done on Sunday.

Positive thing about not being pregnant: I can continue to hide the grey hairs!

Aw, PM sorry to hear that. It must be really frustrating when even the Dr doesn't have a clear plan. big hugs, as nothing I can say will make anything any better. :grouphug:

Tea - have a lovely time at the hairdressers. I know I get so caught up in the whole TTC business that I forget to pamper myself, and us TTC ladies need pampering!

WTTDN - I don't get the difference between embryoscope and EEVA either. I know that only one clinic near us uses EEVA and its around £800 but don't know if embryoscope is available on NHS.

At the open evening, did they mention endometrial scratch? Seems to be some chatter about it in the IVF world. My dr said I should think about it for round 2.

Have good weekends everyone, its a bank holiday here so off on Monday! Yeah! xxx

Bit of a crappy couple of days for me. Having been told that the 3 rounds of antibiotics were for nothing, yesterday I went to the GP for more painkillers and within minutes of leaving the surgery, I was in severe pain. I went home and a few hours later I was crying and screaming with the pain, to the point where I called my mum. She took one look at me and made me go to A&E. They think I have something called Trigeminal neuralgia which causes episodes of extreme facial pain. They treat it with epilepsy drugs, anti-depressants and pain medication so I have anti-depressants and tramadol now and of course I'm worrying about ttc while this is all going on - like will I be in severe pain without medication through the pregnancy? Will they even give me fertility meds and help if I have something like this?

Tea hope you enjoy getting your hair done.

Sewit thanks I hate not having a plan or really whats going to happen for us ttc wise.
  • PM, you're really having a rubbish time, I hope things start to get better for you x
Code, I have an aunt with trigeminal neuralgia (sp?) and my grampa had it too. As far as I know my aunts is under control and it's not constant, although it is extremely painful when it kicks off :( x
All went well at our outcome appointment, we are officially pregnant now :) It was lovely, the consultant popped in to congratulate us, as did a couple of the nurses and the embryologist! I felt like a celeb :) hubby is chuffed to bits-he needed to be told properly as the 10 tests I have done since Sunday obviously don't count! We are back for a scan on the 21st Oct as they like to wait until a heartbeat can be detected before scanning. I'll have plenty of tissues to hand for that one. Our next challenge is to tell the teenager he is going to be a big brother! :)
