Hi, sorry to hear you are feeling carp Skint, Time and Part - have a duvet day.
I have my FS appointment on Thursday. We have gone private for the first appointment - what should I expect? Is it true if you need treatment you can just get fed back into the NHS system?

Huge hugs to all those feeling low today, I hope we all get some better news soon.
Littleme I'm not sure about feeding back into the NHS, hope your appt goes well.0 -
Sorry to hear everyone's feeling down :grouphug:. Two day weekends are definetly not long enough, an extra day is needed to relax at home.
Littleme I think going private can affect your entitlement to NHS fertility treatment at a later date; check with your local CCG as each one has a different policy. The biscuit will only dare to be just a biscuit when it is with its true friend the potato. (Edward Monkton) :beer:0 -

T2d, I've likened the effects of tramadol (when I've taken with other selected painkillers, unfortunately don't work alone for me) to space cakes
sometimes you definitely do just need a mental health day. Hope you feel better soon

Aww disappointed by my reaction to tramadol. Just makes me a tiny bit sleepier than usual.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0

Thanks for all your replies. I have just emailed the FS secretary and she has said that I need to speak to my GP and ask for another referral to be made to the SAME FS but at the hospital.
I guess, like you say, we could get on and have the tests done privately and wait for the NHS referral to come through.
I guess though (thinking positively.....) that we are not out yet this month. I am testing Thursday morning before we see the FS. I will be CD28 by then so due on imminently.

For those of you who also have male factor problems, what (if anything) have you been told about frequency of sex?
We aim for every other day around ov. (which is a bit irregular, doesn't help) but tbh it's just not happening. Neither of us have that much inclination!
Thinking about it, everytime OH has had a SA they've told him to abstain for 3 days beforehand. So is every 3 days better than every other day maybe? If the numbers are really low (ours are pretty bad) should we be leaving an extra day to build things up??
We haven't been given any advice on this - just told that the SA results are always terrible so we need ICSI. But would be interested to hear if others in a similar situation have been given any info from the FS.0 -
Tea I'm not sure, we to have male factor probs but I never ov so never really have a chance, are you able to ask the fs their advise?0

Don't worry - it just takes the edge off for me. It reduces anxiety, but also makes me a bit nauseous. I agree with BZ it works best with other things (ibuprofen in particular) if you want 'better' impacts!0 -
I think that only applies when you have assisted conception treatment, rather than just appointments/tests.
Hmm - that's worrying. I have had private treatment, but it was in a slightly different situation, I wonder if they will still treat me. The GP referred me so hopefully they will at least allow me to start.0
