Morning all, hope you are feeling good today?

Angela, sounds good and avoids the usual 'which family shall we spend Christmas with?' type arguments, so I might suggest we do something similar next year! Look forward to hearing all about it, you must be excited!

Nichart - ha ha! Yup, exactly the same happened to me, but the nurse told me it was very common to start a period when you body has received such a big shock. I was completely thrown, was on a mixed ward and didn't even have knickers on yet! Plus they couldn't find where my bag had been hidden, so the best they could come up with was paper hand towels until the next nursing shift started in the morning! I was bed bound anyway, so not much I could do - apart from wait until they changed my bed the next day :rotfl::rotfl:

But what really annoyed me afterwards was that if it is so common, why aren't they more prepared with supplies to hand? Oh, see, what great memories I have!!
  • Ha ha, mad mac love it....doesn't it make you glad to be a woman!!!

Angela - wish I was going to Las Vegas this year - hopefully next year we will be going somewhere exotic to celebrate OH 40th.

Thoughts are slowly turning to Christmas - will be nice to have something else to think about!!! Unfortunately this might be my grandads last Christmas or my nan's first one on her own so will be quite an emotional one for us.

  • Hi everyone, loving the stories. I had a slightly different problem when I had my trachy, mine disappeared! AF was due her visit, and never really came, I did ask if they had hoovered it away, but apparently not!!!

Well, AF is here for this month, so I am bug and out for this month. Still a new month tomorrow, and I start my CBFM this month - although I had better buy some pee sticks, I hope I dont have to start peeing too quick! (How quick do amazon deliver, anyway?)

Well, PMA is well and truly gone on its holiday - I have looked hither and thither and it just will not come back. So maybe I will give it its break for now and let it enjoy its Christmas Turkey in peace! Then come the new year, I shall harness it and fly off into the sunset!!!

Angela, your holiday sounds marvellous, enjoy!

    Nadine - hugs XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

    Madmac - hi!!!

Jiblets, well done for getting through your op - eeeeekk to the pictures, but how nice to see how right it was to go ahead with the op

Have a good night, and day tomorrow!! Lilo

Lilo - on the first month, I think cbfm ask for the first stick on day 6. Amazon can be very good or very bad with supersaver deliver. I had things turn up in two day, but I also had to wait a week..

  • Thanks ginvzt, Hopefully they will be here in time. If not I will have to be VERY un-mse and buy them from boots!

  • I got a call from the hospital today saying that it wasn't good news - the sample they sent off following my D&C did not show any chorionic villi which means that it wasn't a product of conception:( So had to go straight back down to hospital for more blood test and another scan - the scan did not show anything again - my uterus appeared back to normal size and nothing seemed unusual then I got the results of my hcg back and they had dropped from near 6000 to 1200:D:D:D:D Which is good news - I had a bit of bleeding before I was taken to theatre on Tuesday so may have lost the tissue then, I have to still go back for follow-up bloods on Monday just to check the levels have dropped off completely. So at the moment it is looking good - at last!

Oh Cat, some relief then I think at long last - but well done to the hospital for checking you again so quickly, I'm actually quite impressed! How sad is that. But have a glass of wine and try to relax, you deserve it, x

Hi Lilo!! Yeah, I've had to pop to Boots before now, corr it hurts to buy the pee sticks at full price! My CBFM still asks for the first sample of CD6, so hasn't altered much since I first started with it really. I suppose that's a good thing, but I would like it to have to earn its money a bit more!

Nadine, I'll hope your Grandad gets to spend one last Christmas with you all - we said that once about our Nan, but she ended up lasting for years afterwards and proved us all wrong... But you know how the saying goes - one life ends and another starts, so something good usually appears from the sorrow and sadness, x

Hugs to all in need, sleep well.
  • Morning everyone

Madmac - that made me quite emotional. He was told he wouldn't see Christmas back in July but, like you say, he could go on for years!! I think it is his goal to be here for Christmas and he's doing ok so far (he has cancer of the oesophogus (sp!!) which has spread to his liver) - he's 83 so he's a stubborn b!! Next AF is due Xmas Day - how fab would an alternative Xmas pressy be this year!!!!

Lilo - My Persona says it will take first reading on CD6 every month so possibly they are all the same. I am on CD4 so will see what it says on Sunday. I was bad and bought my sticks in Boots. Will have to search for cheaper ones!

    Big hugs to everyone

Catw0man, glad all is going ok now! Take a break and relax! Have a fun weekend to take your mind of things!

nadine - I hope your grandad will be here this Christmas (and who knows, there might be a few more). My grandma passed away 2 years ago in January, and I wasn't able to make it back for the funeral (back home funeral takes place latest on the third day following the day person dies, she died on Saturday and have just started new job. I still feel guilty). I have been home for Christmas (and it was our first wedding - we had civil separatery to church due to country laws), and there was a discussion should I go to see my grandma - she was in hospital at that time and some days she would recognise my mum (her daughter), but would recognise my dad - her son in law. And my parents just were worried that she might not recognise me or it might make her upset. But she recognised me and was very happy to see me. I am glad I saw her for one last time...

On different note - my monitor asked on day 6 for the first stick first month, and then it was day 8 for the last two months... I know it is not very MSE, but even with first class delivery, it would probably work out cheaper from Amazon than from Boots!!!!

  • Well I started my monitor today, so hopefully it will help with the 'right' time. I (finally!) read the instructions, and it says it will be day 6 for the first cycle and then it learns from your sticks from then on. I ordered them from Amazon last night, and they say delivery on Monday, so thats within the time, so I am okay. Trouble is I am an optimistic cheapskate, and dont want to pay out until I need to!

nadine, I too hope your grandad lives for many years yet, and that christmas this year is very special for you.

Hope everyone has a good weekend - we are decorating (well DH is, I am supplying with tea and stew!!!)
