Hi all, not long back from the hospital!
Went in at 7am fasted from 10.30pm last night, went in and spoke to the doctor who was really nice and easy to talk to. She went through my notes and discussed what we were going to do, last night I had been told that the only way forward was with surgery to remove the 'ectopic' even though they were not convinced. Anyway after speaking to the doctor this morning she felt there were three ways to go - the surgery route, the methotrexate - I was told last night that my hcg levels were too high for this to work but was told today that different hospitals set different limits, at my hospital it is 5000, mine was about 6000 an the doc this morning thought that the methotrexate would probably work. The final option was to sit and wait and continue monitoring me. She felt that as I hadn't had a scan since last Friday that it would be useful to send me for one.
The scan went well and the doctor doing it was lovely - she scanned me last week too, she said she couldn't see anything to suggest an ectopic, though technically she couldn't rule it out her gut instinct was that there was nothing of concern.
Went back to the doctor on the ward who spoke to the consultant and they decided that the best way forward would be to have a D&C - as there is 'something' in my womb, and they would analyse this to see if there was any sign of tissue!!! So I have to phone for the pathology results tomorrow!! I am glad because it is much more straight forward op - I am home and not in pain, hopefully this will solve the problem.
So apart from having to wait until 7.15pm tonight to be taken for op - STARVING!! everything went well.
So fingers crossed this will solved the problem and there will be no more issues and we can get on with the other tests!!
Will keep you all up-to-date!
Thanks for all the kind words and support xx
Sorry for the massive post!!
MadMac your story really made me smile0 -

Catw0man and jiblets1 I am glad your hospital visits weren't too traumatic.
Big hugs and best wishes to everyone else.
I am having a busy week so far and waiting for AF to arrive again. Am fairly definite there will be no miracles this month - we've been too tired!
On the plus side though, we have started booking some of our Las Vegas nights out at Christmas. There are also a few job options are arising which seem really promising for me after all this waiting.
Nothing much else to report with us, all very dull here!:DThanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

Jiblets and Catwoman, glad you are both home safe and sound and things went ok.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0

It all seems to have gone well then jiblets. Fingers crossed that this was the major factor and that once you are feeling better you will get that elusive BFP!!!
There seems to be a lot of stories about unsuccessfull bloods being taken - they can never get any out of me no matter how many times I tell them to use the other arm - they always know best!! Just before my op they were putting the canulas in and I ended up with a little pool of blood on the floor and all over my bed which I hadn't actually got into yet.
I was supposed to see the counsellor at the fertility unit yesterday but she cancelled as she's unwell. Bit of a shame as I had got myself all worked up for it so now I have to wait for another appointment.
Starting my 2nd month of follicle tracking with first scan on 7 December - can't believe we were referred a year ago and they still don't seem to be any further forward. Still on the wait list to have the hycosy under anaesthetic which will hopefully be in January.
On another note I have got an interview next week but I'm not sure whether or not to go or just stay where I am. It's at the local university, looks interesting, will mean less travelling so not having to get up so early, similar salary but probably more potential for line management and subsequent higher salary. Reasons behind not wanting to go is that my current boss is really flexible with all the hospital apointments I have been having recently and will probably need in the future and I can work from home if necessary. If I got the job would probably mean starting in January and then needing time off to have this hycosy thing, could end up getting pg and not getting maternity pay (could afford for this to happen). Plus do I need all the stress of learning a new job, new people etc. But also I know I shouldn't put my life on hold just in case I get the BFP!!
I'm thinking if I already have doubts about taking the job should I bother taking a days leave to attend the interview (when I have more than enough work to do!). Ooh I'm all of a pickle!AFD May 8/150 -
Catw0man, thank goodness and big sigh of relief - hopefully all systems go soon and hope you're back to TTC soon - and now well fed and watered!! xxxx
Jiblets - wow and eurgh!! You were brave to ask for the pictures, but thanks for sharing! You must be so relieved and more than a little excited? Wouldn't that just be the biggest Christmas present - here's hoping for good news from you soon, x
Two successful hospital stories - and I'm so made up for the both of you. Sending you both love and hugs, x :grouphug:
Angela and Nadine - both talking of jobs! Well, I think it sounds positive that there are more jobs starting to appear and good luck to you both!
But Nadine, if I were in your shoes I would be thinking a sympathetic and understanding boss is worth their weight in gold... so rare and absolutely invaluable at times! ...
Glad you liked my bloody tale - I've plenty more like that from my extended stays in hospital last year! Though not all as funny:whistle:
I don't have much else to say, very dull here too and no helpful exercise for a few weeks now, so I'm waiting for him to get his act together again! :rotfl:0 -
Hello ladies
Catw0man lots of hugs to you, glad the op went well, hope they can get the tests done quick so you can get some answers for you and your OH
jiblets glad to hear your op went well too id want to see pics too
angelavdavis are you going to las vegas at christmas?
seen as how we are sharing hospital stories... PROB TMI when I had my knees replaced I had the op and that night came on this was a week early so had no tampons with me so as I am on a ward that is full off the elderly the only thing they had was a huge nappy type thing yep it was that or nothing
I am on CD20 and as I have come off clomid have not OV as I dont natrually so I am just looking forward to my appointment that is only 13 days away just a shame work are been so annoying about time off for appointments :mad:0 -
Yes off to Las Vegas for Christmas, but back for New Year this time. Staying right on the strip: Christmas evening dinner at the Paris Eiffel Tower Restaurant overlooking the Bellagio fountain and the strip all lit up, seeing Cher in concert, off to a cheesy Andy Williams Christmas Show plus I get to catch up with some friends over there. Can't wait!
Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!
